is a 1080 degree of rotation wheel worth it?
SO much as I've seen, people I've asked said a 1080 wheel is better than a 900 wheel for this game, but in the game the wheel only turns 2 1/2 rotations, aka 900 degrees. Just looking at buying a wheel and if I should consider a 1080 wheel. whats the plus side to a 1080?

Uhh.. the plusside is 1080 is more than 900? :) But that's not the only thing you should be looking at.

In a sense, it could be more "realistic" but no benefit otherwise. A lot of large vehicles in real life have 900+ degrees of steering simply because of how much weight is on the axles(no amount of power steering will fully take the weight from the drive) and for overall drivability when going in a straight line of travel. I'm not sure if ATS/ETS2 would benefit from it.

The only example of 1080+ degrees on a real life wheel that I have experience with is a United States U-Haul truck. Feels like you're turning that steering wheel forever just to make a right hand turn.

900 dgrs would be enough. Believe. I have the 900 dgrs wheel and I'm so satisfied. It is so realistic.

Are there any good 1080s out there?! (G27 quality?)

I was looking at buying a wheel earlier and I decided against it. I don't play a lot of racing games and I just don't think it's worth spending over $100 for a decent wheel that I'll only ever use for one game. I'll settle for my Xbox controller for now.

I get the fact that it could be more realistic to have a 1080 wheel. However, I have a 900 degree wheel and in my opinion, that's enough. If you're aiming for the ultimate driving experience then fair enough, otherwise save your money :)

I had the same thoughts before I bought my wheel. Now that I've spent over 2,000 hours with my G27, I say the cost was 100% justified. I got more worth from a gaming racing wheel than I've gotten from my own real truck.

If a wheel has 1080 rotation, it's more than likely better quality than a G27. (thrustmaster probably has the cheapest such wheels)

The thrustmaster 150 is a decent 1080 wheel for $180, otherwise the T300 at $400 is what I've seen thats also decent.

Thanks everyone else for the imput, very good to know.

I get that it appeals to a lot of people, I have no problem with that. I just would want to use something like that for more than just one game before I invested in it.

Well that was uncalled for. I hate CoD, for the record. I do not and never will own or play any of that ♥♥♥♥.

Maybe you took my answer a bit too seriously, but stupid questions deserve stupid answers.

Just don't waste your time wasting other people's time. Not a dumb question to get feedback on if a particular feature may be over the top for a particular game. What's dumb is thinking that you can convince me that you weren't trying to stir up some kind of response from someone with a response so dumb as "1080 > 900." So next time, if you don't have something to add to the conversation, just move along, that's all.
