What are tag lift axle mechanics?
I have some of the truck axle configurations where I can lift up axles. I don't know much about trucks in real life, but I know a bit of basics about lift axles. But here I am interested about in game mechanics around them. I have these few questions:
1. What are some general rules to put it down or pull it up? Cargo weight? Elevations? Tight Curves? Or what are the ideal scenarios.
2. What are their relationship in terms of fuel consumption. Do the consume more fuel as real life?
3. Do they change how the truck handles in anyway? (For the axles that can be steered). I have done some rough tests and feels like they all have almost same turning radius.

Thanks in advance, and have a good day.

2. If the lift axle was powered as well(not in the game I don't think), then fuel consumption would increase. But in the game, it's pretty much just dragged and not really causing much of an issue when down from what I can tell.
3. It used to be that really heavy trailers would lift the steer axle off the front of the ground. Having a liftable steer axle in the rear allowed you to turn. This has since been fixed. In the game, I don't think there is any benefit to using a lift axle now other than legal requirement.

In real life, steered axles do not change the turning radius when they are lifted. Only non-steered axles change the radius. When they are mounted in front of the truck's center of rotation, they increase the turning radius when they are lifted. Behind the center of rotation they make the radius smaller when lifted. So lifting the first of two non-steered rear axles makes the radius bigger, lifting the last makes it smaller. I don't know if this behaviour is implemented correctly in the game.

Lifting the tag axle gives you a smaller turning circle. I used this when in the loading bay to pick up or drop off a trailer. But they are twitchy in higher speed, so doing them when on the motorway is a good idea.

Ah, thanks guys. So, basically, there are little to no benefit in game yet.

Apart from the quicker turning (tag-lift), correct. Not much else. Not sure about tire wear, but it's rather a non-issue anyway.
