It makes the wheel behave more like a real steering wheel and less like an effects box.
I've looked at that plugin a few times, even downloaded it.
But was a bit unsure if it could be removed easily if I didn't like it.
You'll be fine. You can remove it any time. Sometimes, I forget to run the 64bit version of the game and as I only installed the 64 bit plugin and have my LGS profile set to the 64 bit exe, I just end up with my global Logitech settings...which is so noticable I know exactly what I have done. (Edit: Though, I'm fairly sure the profiler just looks at the exe name, which is the same for both versions. Either way, there's no harm.)
The only issue I have ever encountered with it was a conflict with vJoy but since I only used vJoy for flying in B17, I ditched vJoy and haven't had an issue since.
It should work with the G29 and 920 as far as I am aware. There were a number of posts in that thread around the time they were released and I'm fairly sure support was added in an update to it.
Edit: I will add, I only use the FFB plugin, I don't use the auto transmission plugin...if that's still relevant, I don't know.
Another edit: It doesn't like ALT+TAB either. When you get back in the game you'll have no FFB but you can just open up the console and type...
sdk reload
..this will bring everything back to that SAT feeling most sim racers are used to.
Ok I'll still try the plugin. So did you just drop the plugin in and changed anything else?
1) Disabled FFB in game
2) Put the files in the appropriate folder
3) Set up an ETS 2 profile in the Logitech software with settings as recommended
4) Enjoyed the new FFB experience that's more in line with my expectations
I did, I think, change the button assignment in the .ini file that switches my LED function. I may also have tweaked gain settings, not sure about that without checking.
