Logitech g27 driving wheel not working in Steam SOLVED
Hello,

I've played ETS2 a lot (it's actually my most played game) and almost from the start by using the Logitech G27 wheel and gearbox.

Lately I haven't had as much time to play games so my wheel has been lying in the wardrobe for a year or so.

But now I feel the need for some truckin' except I can't get the wheel to work.

I just want to say, before I start writing all the specs and stuff, that the wheel works perfectly in every other game except ETS2. It doesn't even get recognized here.

My hardware specs are: Intel i7 4GHz processor, Nvidia GTX1080 graphics card, 16 GB RAM, 64 bit win 10. If you need more info about the hardware just ask.

Software and settings for the game and Logitech profiler and so on: Logitech profiler version and driver version are both 5.10.127, I have the latest version of ETS2 on Steam (can't find the actual version number but it was a new update about a week ago that I automatically installed), I'm currently running the Logitech profile on the 64 bit version of ETS2 but I've tried the 32bit version as well with no different results.

I've reinstalled drivers for the wheel, reinstalled ETS2, reinstalled the logitech profiler, "refreshed" the drivers as suggested by Logitech themselves. And the issue is still this: the wheel and everything works perfectly on all other games except for ETS2...

Please help me with any advice, ideas, similar problems and so on!

Kind regards,

Jakob

First off, as a long time G27 user, this all does sound baffling.

But to start the troubleshoot, how exactly doesn't it work? Like, does ETS2 not recognize your wheel at all? does it not accept any input in the menus? or does the FFB not work?

edit: ok, i missed the line where you said it doesn't get recognized. hmm.. back to thinking..

I find uninstalling the G27 drivers and reinstalling them sometimes helps. Also check your drivers are up to date with your graphics card. Try a USB port.

Ok, let's go back to basics; in the game settings>controls, you have selected "Keyboard+Logitech G27"..? And "controller subtype" is set to "wheel"? Or the wheel doesn't show up even here? If it doesn't, then there's something wrong with the driver/software, i'd think.

(I assume you have since you seem smart enough, but gotta make sure you haven't overlooked this. i've seen it happen :) )

Yeah the thing is that the wheel doesn't even show up in the game. It says that I have no controller or input device connected...

And I've never had a problem with the wheel myself, and obviously it works with other games so it must be something wrong with this one... Where can I get latest drivers/software/firmware? Maybe I downloaded from the wrong place or something?

I've tried different USB ports with nu luck. And every driver, both graphics card and Logitech profiler are up to date...

The weird thing is that it works with every other game, but not ETS2.

open Steam setting -> Controller -> General Controller Settings
Check if your G27 is detected, If it is, uncheck the "Generic gamepad configuration support" tab
If it is not detected, then there is a conflict with other usb device(s)

Jin666 THANK YOU! Apparently all I had to do was uncheck the generic gamepad configuration support and it started working. So silly... a week's worth of troubleshooting and it all came down to one button...

Thanks so much for the help everyone, now I'm off to deliver some goods all around Europe.

This didn't work for me. In my steam just appears "none detected control". In Windows 10 the wheel is recognized normally, however the problem is in Steam that doesn't recognize my wheel.

disabling (unchecking) all controller settings in steam (big picture) worked for me
