I sincerely doubt if there will ever be a fully-working, mirror-image Multiplayer aspect to this game or ATS. By mirror-image, I mean an exact replica of the standard game, meaning all mods, all DLC and all traffic. Why? Because people.
Well, like almost everyone will tell you, the unofficial MP mod has nothing to do with the game or SCS as it's a third party mod which is created and maintained by regular people.
As it's just like every other mod, every time SCS updates the game or adds a new DLC due to the nature of it the unofficial MP mod is incompatible with those DLCs (not the other way around) until the mod author makes the required changes to make it compatible with them. Hell, the Schwarzmüller DLC was released on the 16th of September last year and the mod still isn't compatible with it so those that bought it are forced to disable it, if they want to use that mod; no one truely knows the reason why they're yet to make it so either because no one from the unofficial MP mod team has/will(?) even bother addressing it or the reason why that's the case.
