Are the repair costs accurate?
Reflecting that of actual trucks in real life and the cost to repair them.
Is 10 grand a bit steep for 5% damage?

because the cost of repairs is really putting me off playing this game

Early game when you have low money and do not have any hired drivers yes repair costs are expensive. But after a whilee you start to rake in 100K+ per delivery and have hired workers then any expense on repairs become meaningless.

The price you pay most likely is a made up value and does not reflect real life costs.

yeah i think i might have opened my own garage a little early in that case ive got 4 employees and barely making enough for these stupid repair costs, im sick of losing ten grand for idiot AI drivers.

think its time to hang the keys up

The money you earn has no realism but the cost of the truck & parts, yes so on a hunch, yes too for the repairs. Now, 5% of damage in the front (engine & co) is not the same than 5% of damage in the rear (bumper).

its usually headlight area i get damage so im assuming ten grand is a rediculous price for a headlight haha car headlights are nowhere near that price range so i doubt the headlight of a truck would be much different

oh well it was fun while it lasted, good game, bad simulator

I do think you're a bit too salty tho :steamsalty:
Do you drive with speed limiter on? Do you follow the speed limit and traffic rules? Do you take enough distance from cars infront of you?

The AI is quite bad, so you will have damage now and then thanks to them. But most damage you take is probably because you inflict the damage yourself.

At least, it sounds like you have to go to the repairshop a lot of times..
You will eventually earn a lot of money like C2 mentioned. You can also consider to take a bankloan for the time beeing, but most important, drive with more care :steammocking:

nah i dont have to visit often, but when i do it costs me a rediculous amount for small amounts of damage lol

i think its mainly my fault for upgrading my garage and employing a bunch of people before i had built some money up first but i seem to be struggling cash wise..... it hasnt dropped below 20grand yet but i want to open another garage at some point and at this rate its gonna take forever

Have you thought about enabling the 1.5times or 2times money reward mod? You can download it in the workshop.

You can enable and disable mods anytime you want, besides that, everyone can, may and will play on their own behalf, how, when and whatever they want, it's their playtime.

Having learnt somthing from this, why not just start a new profile?
I got to about £250, expanded home garage to 3 slots, took on 2 drivers with basic trucks, upgraded them as money allowed then just took it from there. Never used bank until income was greater than the loan repayment.
Believe me,once you get this game rolling, you will have more money than you know what to do with so repairs will be the least of your problems.
I am trying a "realistic economy" mod and have 4 garages, 19 drivers (only half of which have max skills) and am making over £100k a day.
Previous profile (level 131) 250 drivers alll maxxed was making over £1m a day.

Strainge, because I never have so much damage. Maybe is because I drive carefuly and keep the trafic laws and speed limits.

If you try to drive better, then maybe you wont have so much damage.

Of course, all depends on the age of the player ; if you are underage and not knowing how to drive, or if you are a careless driver in real life, then 5% damage is fair for you.

You have to drive , not participating in Formula One Truck, or Truck Theft Auto :):)

I think it depends a lot on what you're paying in loans when it comes to how affordable it is - if you took out the full 500K right at the start, early doors damage is going to seem a lot steeper, especially when earnings are still low. Personally I saved for my first truck and got it at lvl 11. Most damage I did to it was 40%, which was 32k - at that point in the game that was 2-3 deliveries for me, so not too bad.

I'm not sure how accurate the damage cost is - it looks to be roughly a % of the trade in value of the truck maybe? But yeah it's good enough - you do a nock here and there, get 1 or 2% damage its usually a grand or so... You take a big smash and finish with 10/12% damage, it's a 10K bill... To be honest thats the amount of damage where in real life you're insurer would start to look to write the vehicle off most likely lol, as for my 40% damage ... a 40% damaged truck in real life is totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol - buy a new one!

Now you need insurance inspectors to estimate value of damages?! It can be so many level of damages that it's impossible to make every customer happy.
My headlight area gets rarely damage, because I look around and use brakes and steering wheel as necessary.

i dont have high repair costs, unless i drive recklessly.
