Hired drivers not finding jobs?
This is somthing that has always puzzeled me, why is it that when you have a company where you have hired drivers that they ocasionally can't find a job, why don't they just accept any job as I do, maybe somthing for the devs to have a look at.

Actually, it's coded into the game that 10% of the time, a hired driver can't find a job.

10% is a sure thing ?

On top of that, if the player is free to do Delivery town > Delivery town > Delivery town, the drivers are limited to do Home town > Delivery town then Delivery town > Home Town. It drastically diminishes their available jobs.

You can mod it to 0%
I made my own economy mod using ETS2 studio as vanilla one was too easy to progress.
Doesnt make game harder, just takes longer to expand, upgrade etc

well, when I say 'coded', it's part of the economy setup. In response to the OP saying "something for the devs to look at" .. meaning they already know :) because they intended it that way.

Nothing to look at, it is part of the coding, there is a chane they will not be able to find a job and return empty. The more skills and higher level they are the less chance this will happen but still has a chance to happen when they are maxed out.

Just seems daft for it to be that way.

In what way? I think it's more realistic that there won't always be a customer wanting to make a delivery back to your home town?

Why have it so they have to go back to the home town that's the daft part they should be able to make deliverys to any destination like the player can.

from economy_data.sii; no_cargo_prob: 0.1 # 10% prob. of empty cargo

It saves precious CPU time?! It would be nice, if this game would use more than one CPU core, but it don't :(

Would be much better if the "Company" set up monthly contracts for hired drivers.

Say, Our base in UK travels all over it from one company to another. And in another country say France we have a contract for another company for 5 of our hired drivers there.

But the breakdown % of the hired trucks could be added to offset some ££ gain.

Not really. As in r/l you have to have training for particular cargoes esp the hazardous, abnormal etc.
The better trained the driver is, the more loads are available.
