If you can work for 5 years for free, I don't see why the 90 people of SCS wouldn't [...] /s
I got my infos from the devs of the games themselves and IMO, if they said no, it's no.
And there will never be an ETS3, with a certitude of 99.99%.
There's no way you could possibly know this because even the developers don't know this. They may currently have no plans for a sequel, but plans change in this business all the time.
I seriously doubt there will be an ETS3, there's literally no need. This game has been around since 2012 and is still going strong with all the changes they make. It takes them around a year or so for them to add a new country to the game based on past country DLCs. There's about 27 countries that are still yet to be added/reworked so that's literally 27 years until ETS2 is finished unless they somehow manage to shorten the length of time it takes them to create whole new countries and that's only what can be predicted with almost certainty considering SCS intends to add the rest of Europe to the game.
What they'd add between those years other than each remaining country of Europe that's still to be added/reworked is literally anyone's guess.
But the devs themselves said it. They admitted they have so many projects currently being developped than ETS3 is quite the fantasy. How could they not know what they said ? How could I not know it if I read it from an AMA with the devs ?
No where near having most of Europe there's still, in no particular order:
- Ireland
- Rework of the UK
- Spain/Portugal
- Italy
- Slovenia
- Croatia
- Bosnia and Herezgovina
- Serbia
- Montengegro
- Kosovo
- Albania
- Macedonia
- Greece
- Bulgaria
- Romania
- Moldova
- Lithuania
- Latvia
- Estonia
- Finland
- Rework of Sweden
- Rework of Norway
- Iceland
- Faroe Islands
and that's if ye don't want to include all the reworks needed for the default base game in order to bring them up to the standards of the more update to date country DLCs.
They can't predict the future and neither can you.
I didn't predicted the future, I merely repeated what they said, ok ? Don't shoot the messenger.
They never said it won't happen, not once. They just said it won't be within 'the next five years'.
Now if you want a conspiracy theory, five years is about the same amount of time it would take them to remake the old parts of Europe (and Go East) to meet Viva La France standards. Meaning if ETS3 was to ever happen, it would be a full updated map that people keep asking for.
