Going to be buying this: Two questions...
Okay, so as title says, once the ETS2 Essentials bundle goes on sale (hopefully), will be picking it up along with the France DLC... have two questions that probably won't effect whether I'll buy it, but more out of curiosity. (I had been on the fence and going back and forth between ATS and ETS2... but considering the still limited localations of ATS as well as DLC, will delve into ETS2 and hope that ATS can expand into more of a full US map.)

One: I'm all for driving the trucks and what not, but ultimately it's simulating a job and/or work... there's no denying that, and just like in real-life, at times we want a break or a "day off", so I've been looking at the car and pick-up-truck and SUV and bus mods that you can drive around in... and I'm wondering if there's any mods that will allow you to attach a trailer to a pick-up truck or SUV so that you can go "site-seeing" while driving in a more "civilian" manner while still making money? (If not, will just make money trucking, then change to a civilian vehicle whenever I have the itch for a "day off" as it were.)

Two: I saw some mods, I think, that allowed you to specify what vehicles show up in traffic... and keeping in mind the bus mods, I'm wondering if anybody knows whether or not anybody's made a bus-traffic mod that has busses go around and make stops while opening doors. (I read in another thread about using developer mode to walk on foot.) So with all that in mind, again in the mind-set of "day off", might be kind of fun to walk around on foot and be able to hop on a bus now and again, just to see where it takes you, and to hop off and wander around randomly. So sort of wondering if anybody knows whether or not this has been done, or if it's possible? (If not perhaps I might try to tinker on a mod to "make it so"... ;]) :steamhappy:

PS - Second question is mainly because I've been LONGING for quite awhile to see a "Tourist Simulator" with as lush of graphics as these other simulators... where you can use public transportation (as a civilian - as in taxi, train, bus, ferry, plane, etc), see the sights, perhaps take pictures and/or have little random exploration quests, mysteries, puzzles, ability to check into hotels, go to museums/galleries, go fishing, camping, etc, and what have you... but, alas, never seems to happen, so have come to realize that if I want anything like that, going to have to try to make-shift it in other simulators. :steammocking:

1.) No but you can drive without a trailer.

2.) It is not possible to do, but I'm no expert.

1) haven't done it, but I've seen car etc mods out there for Single Playere (SP), and have seen cars etc on the road and available to buy in MultiPlayer (MP via https://truckersmp.com), so I believe it may be possible in SP.

2) I don't know of any, but a guy with the handle Squirrel makes videos reviewing all kinds of video games (he's sponsored by ASUS - what a life ). You can look through his videos:

The answer is yes to both. There are a few cars one of the scoda's that can. Its enabled in mp but thats the mods end not the mp end. Otherwise they would alter the mod so you carnt. Another one is the BMW and the Merc car. Unfortuanlly only the scoda is on steam workshop.

To clarify before you end up falling into the pitfall that most potential buyers do and end up thinking the game has a MP feature. The 'MP' Scot was referring to is an unofficial MP mod which was created and is maintained by regular people that has nothing to do with the official version of the game (it's basically a bastardized version of the official game) that ye buy off Steam nor does SCS have anything to do with it. ETS2 is strictly SP only, for now at least.

As the first is answered already, I'll go on with the second instead.

The engine will not allow this. It is simply not coded in or anything of the sort. There is a Euro Coach Bus DLC that may/may not come in the future that was announced a year or two ago. But currently, as it stands, no doors in the game open, there are no interactions of "people" with the vehicles, or anything. Also, the traffic is not coded in such a way to pick up passengers from bus stops and the like. OMSI 2 is the only game I'm aware of that has such a thing, but it is very demanding on resources.

Not too overly heartbroken by it; not usually much into multiplayer, even tend to play MMORPGs as solo as possible, lol. Though, in a casual trucking game, multiplayer might be kind of neat, guess I'd have to cross that bridge when I come to it. :steammocking:

Think I've seen OMSI 2 before on Steam, might have to check it out... shame that there's no way of having extra code in mods that loads in to do other/extra functions (like in Fallout, GTA, etc games and others) such as opening doors and interactions, but I suppose that's typical limitations of certain game engines. It's kind of up there with Train Simulator vs Trainz... I guess supposedly some newer versions of Trainz allow you to ride on the train as a passenger rather than always having to be the driver/engineer. :steamhappy:
