2.) It is not possible to do, but I'm no expert.
2) I don't know of any, but a guy with the handle Squirrel makes videos reviewing all kinds of video games (he's sponsored by ASUS - what a life ). You can look through his videos:

The engine will not allow this. It is simply not coded in or anything of the sort. There is a Euro Coach Bus DLC that may/may not come in the future that was announced a year or two ago. But currently, as it stands, no doors in the game open, there are no interactions of "people" with the vehicles, or anything. Also, the traffic is not coded in such a way to pick up passengers from bus stops and the like. OMSI 2 is the only game I'm aware of that has such a thing, but it is very demanding on resources.
Not too overly heartbroken by it; not usually much into multiplayer, even tend to play MMORPGs as solo as possible, lol. Though, in a casual trucking game, multiplayer might be kind of neat, guess I'd have to cross that bridge when I come to it.
Think I've seen OMSI 2 before on Steam, might have to check it out... shame that there's no way of having extra code in mods that loads in to do other/extra functions (like in Fallout, GTA, etc games and others) such as opening doors and interactions, but I suppose that's typical limitations of certain game engines. It's kind of up there with Train Simulator vs Trainz... I guess supposedly some newer versions of Trainz allow you to ride on the train as a passenger rather than always having to be the driver/engineer.

PS - I apologize if there's any odd sounds or anything in the videos, as I'm at work at currently have speakers off.
