why would you even want that?
rocky28965 Mar 13, 2017 @ 12:41pm
It's not an arcade game.

We want the game improving not dumbing down to console lvl.

They said in the last intervju with Squirrle that they are open for porting too consoll one day, but that will be in the future one day if they continue too grow they team and money. Right now you need a pc too play ETS2 and ATS, that is my best advice too you right now.

Sorry OP. The replies you're getting are pretty terrible. Not every console game is an arcade game so I dunno where the heck that comment came from. I'll be nice to you.

Most console gamers probably won't enjoy this game because this genre is barely represented on consoles and gamers normally wouldn't be used to this type of gameplay, whereas on PC they've been around for a long time and has garnered a big fanbase (the genre I mean, not just this game). There's also the fact that a gamepad doesn't support every single key (I use a gamepad but I still have to use the keyboard for some features) so it'd be a bit hard to port it to consoles.

While it is true that lots of PC games ported to console involves some 'dumbing down' in features, etc, it's not entirely true. The Farming Simulator series have been successfully ported to consoles with every feature intact that I am aware of. I guess there is a market for the genre on consoles, but I don't think it's really big enough to warrant a port. ETS2 also has a much, much larger map than Farming Simulator so it may not actually be feasible to port. I have no clue if it does or not though.

This is a pretty good answer, though I think it has more to do with developer preferences and financial investment more than anything. SCS seems content with the popularity of the game on Steam and creating a costly port may be a bit more of a financial crapshoot than they are willing to take on and probably financially unnecessary at this point.

Also, if it's any consolation, although not intended, the title has flamebait written all over it, though it doesn't seem like your intent. Lots of console bashers here on Steam, just need to steer around them.

It will Never be on PS4 or xBox or Wii or any other console

Whenever I hear about a console port and ETS 2/ATS I can't help but think of 1 thing... when did controllers grow extra buttons? This game uses so many keys for everything that you would need 2 controllers to play solo.

There is another hinderance to doing things on consoles. Though I'm not too familiar with policies regarding developers when it comes to the PSN or whatever Microsoft uses for XBox, but both consoles I'm fairly sure require certification before being allowed to be posted on PSN and XBox. And even then, I believe there is a further investment to be made just to push out updates to the games as well. SCS couldn't release those bug-fixer updates as quickly as they can on PC comparing to consoles. The costs of doing those things could escalate fairly fast.

That's basically what it boils down to. I could be incorrect on a few things as I'm not sure how some of those procedures would work.

Oh yeah. All those 83 keys in ETS2 would fit flawlessly on a controller with 16 buttons. That's perfection right there if I ever saw it.

Perfect as soon as the controllers have 83 buttons or so to control everythin that ETS2 and ATS has lol.

There is no way they could add all the functions thet the games have onto the controller only.
