Problem with H-Shifter and gear 7-12
Hey

I recently bought a Logitech G920 steering wheel including the driving force shifter. I'm driving a truck with manual transmission and the range mode. Change from gear R and 1-6 works fine but I can't reach gear 7-12. According to several guides you're supposed to assign a shift toggle 1 or 2 and you can only reach the second set of gears (7-12) when you're on the 6 gear, press the shift toggle, shift to position 1 (or 7) and then press the clutch. Unfortunately this didn't work or me. I assigned the toggle to several different buttons and even used the second shift toggle, but nothing works. Am I doing something wrong ?

thanks in advance.

Yes you do.

I have two buttons on my Logitech G29 - R2 & R3. When the truck starts I can get gears 1-6. Then I press R2 and I get 7-12 then I press R3 and I get 13-18 - assuming an 18 speed gearbox (more relevant to ATS but you get my point).
If I'm in 18th and I need to slow down I need to press R3 again to get gears 7-12 then press R2 to get gears 1-6.

Hope this helps.

but that doesn't work for me. I tried it a thousand times. I drive, change to gear 6, press the shift toggle 1 and then clutch to the position of gear 1 which is supposed to be gear 7, but then I get 1 instead of 7.
Am I using the clutch in a wrong way or do I need to change something in the settings because so far it never worked once with the range setting. Can you explain step by step how you change from 6 to 7 while driving ?

Try the other shift toggle button.

both didn't work. I used the RSB and LSB buttons and several others.

Confirm your geabox settings and shift toggle buttons. Something is amiss and the obvious needs to be riled out. Your gearbox should be Range with H-Shifter.

It is an H-shifter with Range and everything should work fine, but I think I'm doing something wrong with the clutch.

No I think you're usnig the correect process. Here's what I do. Compare it with what you do.

1- Driving in 6th gear;
2- Press the range toggle (toggle 2 I think. Pretty sure toggle 1 doesn't work with a 12 speed box);
3- Press the clutch;
4- Select 7th gear (in gear 1 position);
5- Relase the clutch.

Do note it is fine to switch steps 2 & 3.

If it's still not working can you be sure the button on your wheel actually works? Try assigning it to a key on your keyboard for testing. Are all of the other buttons on your wheel working as expected?
