Conversely, you could edit the trailer weight itself (typically 6500kg, I think)
Change that number to 40000 and ALL trailers of that type will be 40000 + cargo weight.
Be careful :)
Copy the mod file to a safe place. If you mess up any changes you make, you can always go back to the original mod.
Dbl click on the mod file in your mod folder. Winzip should open it. Or WinRAR.
def\cargo\*cargo_type*\
inside that folder will be an .sii file
Dbl click that .sii file. You can edit it with Notepad.
The line you're looking for is:
mass: xxxxx
where xxxxx is the weight in kilograms.
Save the file. You'll be asked if you want to update the archive. Click Ok.
Be careful. If you make that number too big, your truck may not move :)
I changed the .sii file in the transformer trailer as it was well underweight, 35tons as opposed to the original which was 95tons. (Acually pushed it to 120tons for more of a challenge:))
Thanks to fred_be for updating for 1.26.
