TrackIR is definitely better than Tobii 4c or you could try out facetracknoIR with a cheap logitech webcam combination just to acclimatise the game feel before upgradig to TrackIR ot Tobii
Xyzan, I like the idea of TrackIR as its widely known and used, drawback is its more expensive and I have to order it from USA, I live in the UK. Always worried about items travelling so far being damaged in transit.
I hadn't heard of Freetrack (I will look into that one) I had read about FaceTrackNoIR but that seemed to be fiddly and troublesome to set up. Also needing updating?.
Jin666 those are very useful points to know. I know the supported games are limited but didnt know it needed Vjoy as well as infinite screen extension. My PC has USB2.0 and 3.0 sockets... Hmmm I might do as you suggest and try facetracknoIR first.
Eon I have not heard of Trackhat, I will look into that too.
Thanks again Folks.
As for the hardware, you can get a kit or set it all yourself. As far as I know face tracking requires good lighting of your face, point tracking on the other hand requires a dark room or no other light points of the same size and intensity behind you.
For point tracker you can get a ready to use kit or you'll need to replace the IR filter with visible light filter on the camera, get 3 IR diodes, a solid wire pair cable, and a battery powering them - people make sets ready to use you can obtain for not much more than if you wanted to build yourself, so if you don't want any soldering, disassembling and assembling just order a ready kit from someone selling them.

For FacetrackNoIR, its not that hard to setup and fine tune once you understand the principle and basics behind it..

I've tried TrackIR, Facetrack, Tobii eye sentry and facetracknoIR. TrackIR is tops but quite a sum to part with it.
Tobii...skip this
Facetrack (Delan clip) like TrackIR, is not bad but like TrackIR ,I do not like the idea of wearing a cap/wires dangling. Personally I am more comfortable and prefer facetracknoIR because there is no need for any additional equipments that you have to attached to physically , just a simple software with a decent webcam that tracks your face movement. You still have to pay a small fee for the software but that's about it.
I am looking into all these options now
I will probably try the facetracknoIR to start with although I like the sound of TrackHat too as the next option, but the clip not the hat.
Seems you have to pay for facetracknoIR now.... I don't mind supporting their hard work BUT I am always wary of paying online to anything other than big companies like Amazon, Steam etc. who are trusted sites.
Shame there isn't a demo option so I can try it out.
We released an update for GameHub that adds support for ATS and fixes issues with ETS2 and vjoy configuration. It also adds support for extended view with head tracking in ETS2.
