General haulage fleets are usually spec'd with the mid-lift, it allows the operators to lift this when running empty or pulling lighter cargo, therefore saving tyre wear.
The tag-lift is generally seen on more specialist haulage trucks i.e construction, timber haulage, quarries etc generally when some off road driving is required. I dont drive trucks but I believe it allows the trucks to be more manouverable i.e allows a 6x2 to handle like a 4x2.
In the game I employ all trucks with the mid-lift setup. I will lift this when hauling anything under 10tonnes
