How much over the speed limit can you go before speed cameras or police cars will give you a fine?
For now I've been constantly doing 50mph in 50mph zones, 31 in 31mph zones etc to avoid getting fined. However I've read that in the real world you can do the speed limit +10% +2mph, since guages in cars aren't 100% accurate and neither might the cameras be.

So, is this also true in ETS2? Can I get away with a few extra mph? Thanks in advance. :)

well i got fined after 1 second the speed limit changed and i was throtteling down, so i guess its about 2-3 km/h. At 5km/h you get fined for sure

I've now been making a concious effort to see just how much you CAN speed (and have acquired a few fines along the way!)

Twice fined by police for doing 55 in a 50. Same goes for speed cameras.
Lowered speed to 53 and have not had a single fine yet. Decided to try 54.
Speed camera didn't trigger and police officer didn't fine for doing 54mph.

Seems like 54mph is the sweet spot, but to play it safe do 53 since you may speed up by 1mph down hill before the retarder kicks in.

I'd like to know what others have to say. I'm yet to test this in a 31mph zone, if you can speed by the same 3-4mph and get away with it or if the number is lower.

I use default KM, even though I am from the US, and I can generally go, in a 90, 98-9, before getting fined, so cut that in half to get MI. I think it is about 5 over is afine, just like you said.

Same here as said before.... in 80 i went 85 that was alright... doing 52 in 50 and in 60 zone 65 so as i saw it has a 10% tolerance but i'm not sure about the +2MPH ( i wrote those numbers in kmh)

10% tolerance. Easy as that

10% -1mph

Officially there is a 10% tolerance. But the game calculates speed to decimal places and we as gamers only see whole numbers. So if you're in a 50, you could be doing 55 according to the dials/GPS, but you could actually be doing 55.1 which the game reads as speeding.

I'm always doing as follows:
UK motorways: 97 limit, I do 105km/h
Other roads I do 5km/h over the limit.
If the speed limit is 50, i do 50, 55 is a fine mostly as said above.

This is exactly right
