Buying a new wheel. Need some advice.
I wanted to cheap out on the wheel and buy one for £25 but the turning radius was 180 degrees so it wouldn't really be great for ETS2. After looking further into this I found the logitech wheels which are 900 degrees turn radius, just what I was looking for, there is a used G27 up for bids currently at £56 8 bids and 5 days left, It can probably go up to £100 when the bid ends also the wheel is in used condition and I'm buying it online so I can't check it for myself. Or pay £150 for a G29/G920 brand new without the shifter. What would you do in my situation? Is it also worth buying a wheel does it really have a whole new experience?

Btw, this is my first time ever buying and owning a wheel, so I have no idea what to look out for.

I have a speedlink darkfire racing wheel, it has a 220 degree turning ratio but it works fine with this game, i bought it on ebay brand new for less than £50.

How does it feel though, when you turn your wheel to the maximum turning radius, does the wheel in game just carry on going to the direction you turned your wheel in? How does it work? Also, how long do you have the wheel for?

If you can affford it, buy a new quality wheel.

@Packie. In my experience if you buy cheap you buy twice. The second time you buy the thing you ought to have bought first time around.

A wheel is a game changer for ETS2. Save up a bit of money and pay more for the right thing. A 900 degree wheel with 3 pedals and a H shifter is what I'd recommend. I went down the Logitech G29 route and I've not regretted it for one moment. Expensive? Yes but it's worth it for the build quality. A nice sturdy leather (faux?) trimmed wheel.

eBay is a bit of a gamble but if you get in touch with the seller you can get a better idea of how honest his description of the sale item is.

Good luck.

I decided on G920 as my wheel, I held off from buying it as it is quite expensive but as Rob said, I do not want to buy a wheel that I particularly don't like and end up buying a better one afterwards. I'm going to give it a couple of weeks, I'll see if I still want it, and if I do I'll have more than enough money for it. Thanks for your advice guys.

You`ll never need to turn your wheel fully, It`s the same as driving a truck in RL once your moving it`s only a slight turn of the wheel.DON`t buy Cheap and waste your money Buy a G27 with shifter and pedals

Look at Thrustmaster, they are a superior wheel to Logitech in every way. At least compare them. Check them out, they have reviews of both on Youtube.

Logitech G29 and G920 are gear driven so they rattle and feel notchy. The high end Thrustmaster are belt driven and do not rattle or feel notchy, they are smooth.

How do I know, because I have had the G29 (returned because it was faulty), I have the G920 (it's replacement) and I have the Thrustmaster T500RS.

If you are going to spend the money then buy the best you can for the money you want to spend.

buying an used wheel is risky af, i would just buy a brand new thrustmaster t150, arguably as good as the g27/g29, and you can get a new one for 120€ or something like that.

Definitely get the new g29 comes with a warranty less buttons then the g27 but you will have peace of mind knowing if anything goes wrong with it you can take it bk hope this helps
