stoner that only konws how to talk about monster hunter tri
My suggestion is to just ignore the DLC. This is a now-classic Capcom problem, and the dullards with Capcom's logo tattooed on both arse cheeks will defend it all day long. It's bad practice and they're bad developers for doing it, period.
They got shiz on it in Dragon's Dogma and resident evil too.
Just ignore the trash wannnable mobile game DLC and wait for the eventual sail. I got every single Wilds DLC (not counting iceborn of course) for like 3 bucks.
I see no issues on trying to charge me 10 dolar for a skin i will ignore
Unless I missed it I didn't see cosmetic DLC tied to the Season Pass. It seems like a bunch of quest lines. Is it located somewhere else?
They can put in comsetics for a million €€€ for all I care, aint going to buy them anyway, unless they start putting actual stats on cosmetic gear it aint even an issue.
The only important thing is the expansion pack (like Iceborne) which Wilds will eventually get down the road, cosmetic DLC is literally a nothing-burger.
Also I am pretty sure that modders will have everyone´s back in regards of cosmetics for free.
While I don't care much for cosmetics, never bought any in World, I think it's silly to say cosmetics don't impact a game.
People love to customize their characters. They love cosmetics. They have proven that by buying them in every game that has them. The term "Fashion Souls" is a great example of people enjoying and playing a game with cosmetic choices in mind. We can pretend like cosmetics don't impact many people's enjoyment of a game but that would be a lie.
These DLCs make bank.
I guess people have a different meaning of impacting the game. For me if it aint going to make you move faster or hit harder then it literally has no impact on the game.
If they somehow hinder your enjoyment then, I guess? But that is on you then, thats a feeling.
For you, and for me. We are in the minority.
The reason that companies keep making cosmetic DLC is precisely because people buy it and they buy it because it obviously impacts their game.
I guess I am too old and jaded to care about this nonsense to impact my gameplay. I just put on the skin of the monster I killed and min/max my look with that. I can do without a 4.99€ pig helmet :D
In the end, however, the retail model isn't up to the developer or even designers -- it's the execs who make those decision, and it's based on analytics, sales, and retail psychology.
Generally speaking I agree. I've never bought cosmetic DLC in my life but even accept the fact that cosmetics do affect the game and I'm not entirely immune to that.
Take the handler in World. How many people wanted to swap her with the serious handler, for example? Tons. It was mostly her personality and not looks but the point still stands. She didn't change the game play at all.
I say this as someone who bought the premium deluxe version, so I'm definitely a hypocrite. I've just come to accept that this is how AAA games are now.
