Wait ... this is using the engine that delivered those amazing RE games like RE4? O_o I would never have guessed honestly.
No - in that case I was just plain wrong.
All the RE games I played at launch (they ran fantastic from day one) and I started playing MHW on PS4 and only later switched to PC (at which point all was amazing for me on my old rig) ... apparently I missed how bad the launch was?! :-/ That's really stupid.
Yes, but RE games are NOT open world.
True.
Makes me wonder tho how they can screw this up again after MH World apparently had the exact same issues at launch (I'd guess that used the RE engine as well).
Def. deleted this from my Wishlist for the forseeable future ... (makes me very sad honestly).
The problem with World and Wilds is that they want to do constant ecosystem simulation, and this isn't friendly on performance. World had significantly less detailed ecosystem simulation elements then Wilds, but even just that required the entire level to be loaded into your CPU at all times.
Wilds is more detailed in terms of simulation, had SIGNIFICANTLY more monsters to keep track of, AND is open world. So yah, it's not repeating past mistakes but rather a fundamental issue with the very intentions of the director
Makes sense ... which makes me question: Why would they do this if the endresult clearly shows that currently they aren't ready for a vision like this?! The claim "We have a giant ecosystem" is worth nothing .... any dev could just add more enemies - it's only an accomplishment if you can present a huge living world while having the entire thing optimized at the same time. I would gladly take a world like MH Worlds again if my PC doesn't overheat while playing it.
I'm low key keeping it there. Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen, and Capcom will improve performance in a year or something, lmao.
Let's be realistic: If they'll fix it so massivly, you'll hear about it even without having it on your wishlist ;-)
What engine is good for making open world games? Same scrubs that think their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 3060 is sufficient for gaming in 2025 will have same problems with any engine - UE, Unity or whatever else
if this was from Blizzard, EA, or Ubisoft the entire gaming community will be raging like it's the end of the world.
If it was Blizzard EA or Ubi the gameplay would also suck lol
