Next monster hunter game will be on the switch 2.
Mark my words.

They like to release mainline then portable, and portable is where they like to try new things, like perhaps a new revamped underwater combat system. I would be surprised if we could have a mount that can swim and dive too in such a game.

Next? Brother, Wilds can run on switch 2 for sure. They will most likely port the game there.

Lets not get crazy, the switch 2 is said to be an par with a ps4, and i do not know if a ps4 could run wilds.

I am pretty sure Wilds cant be ran on ps4 cause worlds was allready a problem on ps4 :p
they may port outlander to switch and call it a day imo
I believe switch 2 will be very strong in general, I remember checking out some leaks, we may get surprised when they reveal it.
They might well just slam this game right on the switch 2 as it is, no porting needed. It screams switch graphics.
It will be great, "B" team never fails to deliver, also it will run like world and probably look like world considering the hardware so it will be quite smooth to run and still look great.

I expect much more fantasy in the art direction for a portable title, like what rise had. I would not complain if they gave it a Okami art style though honestly

The mainline and portable games had the exact same art style in the past, I think rise had to look like that because of the hardware, the monster models are still for the most part the same as world but with some graphical downgrades, also MH games were always vibrant colorful besides some purposely dark areas in the past.

The mainline and portable games had the exact same art style in the past, I think rise had to look like that because of the hardware, the monster models are still for the most part the same as world but with some graphical downgrades, also MH games were always vibrant colorful besides some purposely dark areas in the past.

Fair point, but i like the fantasy whimsy rise had, and i would love for them to go more into that for the next portable title.
It's really smart if you think about it they do all the testing of new mechanics and wacky stuff on the side game then for the mainline game they bring in the things that worked and people liked, it's one of the main reasons why MH as a game series has been slowly getting better as time goes on and more popular as time goes on it never really feels stagnant.

rise went for a more japanese style compared to the more tribal style of older games

Fair, But it always felt good exploring the maps in rise, the wonders you could see, like that giant snail in the ice area, gave me a good surprise, then the expansion went all vampire themed. Rise was yokai while sunbreak were classic monsters for the style.
