MH WIlds TU4 Gogma Artian Rolls are Seeded
I've come to discover that both the rolls for set bonus combinations as well as the stat rerolls are seeded and that each element has its own track for the rolls.

What this means is in order to get a very specific roll you will straight up need X amount of materials to end up on the specific spot along that weapon element's track.

My method - I took a Gog Artian Weapon. In this case I will use Ice element. I took a sample of 5 set bonus rerolls for the weapon the table was as follows
Ice gunlance rolls: 1: Seregios/Scale Prow 2: Ebony Odo/Neop Camo 3: Omega res/Imparted Wisdom 4: Gogma/Lord Favor 5: Mizu/Lord's soul

I then reset the game w/out saving to craft a fresh Ice Artian Gogma GL to see that the set skill roll for the new was the same as the first roll on the ice gunlance I had crafted prior to this. And that subsequent rolls were the same as the sample above. When I got to the same combination as roll 4 on this sample I took the Gunlance that I had crafted prior to the newer one and did a skill reroll to get the same combination as roll 5.

This is what leads me to believe that the individual elements have their own seed and track along the seed no matter how many of them you craft. The same method works for rerolling stats as well.

If anyone would like to recreate this to validate my findings I would appreciate it. This would mean that some people are fated to farm a certain amount of materials because the RNG for your seed might actually be bound to your character as you craft these weapons rather than true RNG. Considering the game doesn't save between rolls is also what leads me to believe that these are seeded because save scumming would be too easy.

Both element AND weapon types have their own RNG sequences. IE: Fire dual blades will have a different sequence than a fire longsword even through it's the same ele since they are not of the same type.

Also and this is key to making your farming efficient; re rolling a skill will always advance the RNG sequence of ALL elements and ALL weapon types. When you re roll skills the sequence advances by 1 for everything, not just the sequence of the current weapon you are re rolling.

What I do is re roll each weapons individually, quitting without saving between each weapons to get my Gog materials back, and taking notes of each rng sequences then making the most efficient "path" to get all my desired rolls on all my weapons with the least amount of materials possible.

The chances of a "perfect" desired roll is so rare that you should definitely do everything that is under your control to make your life easier. What is not in your control is the seed your savefile is bound to.

As an exemple, my worst luck was with my ice LS. It took me 571 rolls to get the skills I wanted. That's 571 of each Gog material on average. There was nothing I could do to change that so I just had to grind for that much material to "reach" it. No shortcuts possible.

However, during those 571 rolls I was also able to snag my desired skills for all my remaining weapons. I made sure to make the best of it.

You mean "Quit without saving between each weapon" i guess ?
Thanks for the tip nonetheless

If this is true, that would be horrible and such a terrible prank to play on their players.

Save scumming is such an unfun way to play a game, I wouldn't even consider it playing anymore, I mean this is basically a job.

No wonder people use mods to cheat their roles, because that's pathetic.
