Mostly worked as a multiplayer ping, but also highlighted a monster on the map.

Most likely the beta just had the monster show up straight on the map without anything needed. But on full release I'm guessing we will need to track it like world and build up research for each monster.

Traditionally the only way to get a monster to show up on your maps is to paint it. Think automated tracking was still on in the beta so idk why it's back either.
Tested it to ping tails in the beta. Looks like it worked because teammates went to it.

Maybe useful to ping other things like camps/secret areas when playing with a buddy or something, idk.

I hope so, While world was fine, I didnt like that I needed one track at a certain point to see where a monster was and rise's 'owl' was worse showing mons streight up

the funny thing was you couldnt have all monsters on first track reveal.
there was a bar that could go down.
if you allways hunted the same monsters the rest losses its progress.

but this was so minor i only noticed it after hundrets off hours in the game.

I never really noticed this. No matter what monster I hunted after I maxed research to lvl 6/9 it always was just one track

Nah, not the Research Level but rather the Scoutfly Level.

Once in while, if you forget to hunt certain monsters, like the lower tier ones, you will need to re-level your Scoutfly Level again via one or two marks

The other advantage is if the monster runs into more of its kind. I was hunting a Doshaguma and it ran into the Alpha pack so suddenly there was 3 more Doshaguma. I painted the one I was hunting and then Large Dung Podded them so I could follow the one I needed.
