crown farming efficiently?
I've just been going through all the maps to see if any monsters that spawned were little or big crowns before sleeping/changing the monsters on the map. is there a more efficient way of doing things that anyone knows of?

If u need a lot of them yeah thats the way, once u get more specific though (like last 5-10 monsters), doing the wounded hollow enter and leave tactic becomes more efficient

Apex is gonna be resting
Same with guardians
Those will prob be the last ones u need (dont appear in wounded hollow)

Obv doing it with other hunters speeds this up a lot

what's the wounded hollow tactic specifically?
When you leave and re enter the Wounded Hollow, the monster size is changed. So Travel to it and scope the monster, if it's not the size you need then you fast travel to somewhere else and then back, check the size. Rinse and repeat.

Apex and guardian monsters don't spawn in the hollow and monsters in the normal map have their size seeded. So you either need to rest in your tent to change their size or you can rest, check their size with the binoculars and if it isn't the right size you quit to title WITHOUT saving and the load in and check again.

Wounded Hollow trick for some hard to get monster
Normal sleeping after going for a map

Mistake already. Don't Rest and change the monsters. Just map out and back in, the monsters will stay the same but their sizes get re-rolled. You're wasting a lot of guild points for no reason by sleeping.

Does that leaving and re-entering trick eventually stop working? Because I tried that (for example) with Wounded Hollow and after like 3 tries it seemed like it stopped changing sizes
In my experience the only time it "stops working" is with some silver crown tempered monsters. Unless I just got really unlucky, when I find tempered with a silver crown they just stay silver crowned no matter how many times I reroll. Everything else poses no issue.

that's literally what happened to me. guess i was unlucky then, ty
Wounded Hollow is by far the best tactic to get crowns.
Tiny crowns feel harder to get.

Keep in mind that the apexes, excluding natArkveld, and guardian monster(Constructs in your guide) do not spawn in the hollow.

The method is flying from the hollow to suja and back again over and over until you find the desired crown. You can also save those crowns as an investigation. The investigation quest will always have the same size that you saved them with.

So you could do it like follows for the hollow:
Reset monster X until gold crown, save as investigation, keep resetting monster in hopes of getting the other gold crown.

You will have to rest for construct/guardian monsters and apexes. Every time you reset for an Apex you should always check the construct guardians in wyveria.

Thats the most efficient way to farm for them.

I have never encountered the hollow method not working during the time i farmed for all the crowns.

Sometimes you may reroll into the same size over and over again or the monster keeps rerolling into silver crowns but that seems to be just bad RNG.

Big crowns are ridiculously more common than the tiny ones.

I don't even try farming anything, just play, join SOS and so on. Turns out I already collect most gold crown. The best farming method for me is enjoy the game.

careful, your enjoying the game and not playing it like a job, people get angry when you have fun around here. Just ask the haters who troll these forums who dont even own the game..

Just to add to this, because I feel it needs to be said because of the amount of selfish people I've seen in game.

You can also join other people's Wounded Hollow SOS in the hopes of a crown, especially as Wounded Hollow fights are very in and out. HOWEVER, please don't go out of your way to check for crowns and leave if it's not the crown you need. It's absolutely awful to see other people get used for their crowns, while they're struggling with a monster they've sent an SOS for because they need help. Its infuriating the amount of people who feel this is acceptable to do, and negates the point of SOS entirely.

I found most of my crowns through fighting random monsters in quick Wounded Hollow SOS. I also found out 10 pages is the max amount of people you can block, so whoops, if you caught that then maybe don't act like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bot.

Just adding this as I've seen a lot of people advocating for this kind of behaviour. Please don't revert to this.

Wow I did not know this. Thanks a ton! Going to farm the ♥♥♥♥ outta WH now lol
Crown trading is the fastest way in Wilds (although this assumes you already have various crown investigations saved beforehand). Meanwhile one friend of mine got a lot of crowns by asking around in a public lobby.
