WILDS made me want to play WORLD again
I really tried to Like Wilds but After 130h I have to admit it‘s Not that good…
Wilds has a great foundation but for some reason it doesnt Click for me.

The open world feels meaningless and dead and is no different to World. Before Release I thought this will be a Game changer but its literally identical to World except that you have a Tube Like connection between areas that you use once during the Story and never again. It’s just a glorified loading screen tbh.
Imagine the possibilites here: Hunts over mutiple areas and so on.

Farming is non existent and Not required because the Game is so easy that crafting new weapons feels Like an Option and Not a requirement to Progress. Plus you get the Materials super quickly. Remember World where getting a new weapon or Armor set felt Like an achievement.

There is no endgame and nothing to do. The whole Game feels dead once you have beaten every Monster a Dozen times. I tried crown farming but got Burnt out pretty quickly. I tried helping with random SOS flares but once again - the Game is so easy that no one Needs any help. It’s just 3-5 min Gangb*ng where im Starting to feel sorry for the Monster and then it’s over.

Arena is just as Broken as it was in World with leaderboards Full of cheaters and an artificial FOMO reward that no one will be able to get without using Cheats so it’s Even worse than it was in World.

Maybe I‘m just being Nostalgic but World was just the better Game and I‘m Not just Talking about the Lack of content in Wilds. Everything in World felt more meaningful. Wilds on the other Hand Looks and feels Like a Monster Hunter Game but has lost all it’s charm…

Aha? What keeps you from playing World then?

Nothing I will do so once I got the time.
It’s just sad that Wilds feels Like Rise with better graphics and slightly better gameplay

Tbh. I didn't like Rise, got a lot better with Sunbreak but I have allready comparable gametime on Wilds and won't play Rise again.

Pretty much everyone agrees, but still keeps playing Wilds anyway lol

This is how games are made now, 1st prize for everyone, everything has to be easy so everyone is a winner.

I can't really blame the developers, there were a lot of people crying that worlds was too difficult, I remember people were salty they couldn't beat nerigate (forgot the names) solo, or they cried about the unicorn being too OP. (I was so proud when I solo killed the unicorn, I felt then that I understood the game).

Then there was that final fantasy monster, behemoth, that was just a free bonus and not part of the game, they cried about that too.

Now wilds is easy and more successful than world, they will keep making it this easy.

I have no Doubt that Wilds will be the superior Game once they Release the DLC and Master Rank but as of now it just feels Like an Empty Shell of a Monster Hunter Game.

I already moved back to world on ps5. (I have it on steam but I cant bring myself to start all over again lol) I finally beat alatereon and fatalis solo. Its an amazing game. Still my fave MH game so far (though I am loving GU on switch as well so we will see will world remain my fave in time) I still liked wilds plenty but it will need a lot more content as well as master rank to see how it all plays out. I do also think its too easy to acquire all the parts you need in wilds. I miss that YESS!!! moment when you get the drop you want in world. Not feeling it in wilds but again perhaps when Master rank comes. Overall I think as it stands now world is much better but I am still excited for wilds future.

There are trasheaps of indi hardcore and pvp games out there.
Go play them if that's the only thing you care about.
Most people don't like that kind of gameplay so expect low player numbers.
That was my initial impression as well. I actually really enjoyed the hunting and tracking aspect in World and kinda missed it in Rise. However, I really enjoyed how all the weapons played in Rise -- I'd play GS, LS, Bow, HBG/LBG, DB, SnS, HH, it was all great fun. But the experience felt a little shallow owing to the lack of, y'know, hunting. I think I pretty much only played DB/Bow in World.

Disappointed Wilds didn't bring that back and flesh it out some more. Actually having to out to gather so you can prepare to observe, track, and hunt a monster would be pretty fun -- and evocative of the game's title, for that matter.

Yep, building/preparing gear to hunt a particular monster is what made world fun and is what the game is about.

This reminded me of a wind monster in world that was in the air 90% of the time, I have to hunt and craft a new weapon (bow) with its elemental weakness (electric) to take it out.

For the reviews of wild it sounds like crafting is not important or too easy.

Which defeats the essence of the game.
I think the biggest let down for me is the Open World. They could have done so much cool stuff with it but Chose to do nothing with it.
Even the endemic life is scripted because I See the Same animals Doing the exact Same thing at the Same time.
The world doesnt feel alive at all.
Op, you're right.
I just want to point out that 130 hours is not "nothing to do" it's fairly a long playtime.
Now i can understand no replayability or that MH may be usually more like 300hours type of game, but honestly, i think farming is a chore, so i disagree that "farming is too easy" but i get where older MH players came from. Especially since fighting is fun, but having an excuse to fight is better. Maxing everything out can be a thing to do ?
I played this game especially cause i didn't want to farm like koreans ! (Koreans' mmo back in my days where crazy farming chore mechanics, they love that i think, now they farm manwha and series and i love them for it)

I had the same thought as well initially. I went back to World and created a new character, put in more hundreds of hours, then went back to WILDS and now I feel like Wilds is actually playable with a new appreciation since i've had my fill with WORLD.

I think the best thing for now is to just participate in events and updates. Eventually, Master rank will be introduced with whole new different mechanics and potentially Elder Dragons who might make us go from one map to another in a single hunt (wishful thinking). But other than that, I would suggest you log in with a goal in mind like hunting all monsters in one map and hop off. or gain a few hunter rank ups and hop off. the game will gradually get better.
Op's pretty much spot on. i like wilds and ive played it for a good stretch but this is the first monster hunter that has left me feeling like i expected more... im not sure why. world was awesome, rise was great and wilds is too but i dunno somethings missing.

This is objectively untrue. There is wildlife out there who perform mating rituals with each other, will catch butterflies out of the air and eat them, nest and raise babies in trees. Fish will splash in water attracting flying animals that will catch and eat them. You add half a dozen or more monsters that roam the map the whole time and you have maps that feel the most alive of ANY game ever made.

It's absolutely more alive than World, than Rise and subsequently any other Monster Hunter game before it. Maybe take some time to explore the zones and look around some?

World was the same.... smh. You only needed to kill a monster 2 or 3 times before you could craft a whole set or weapon. It's the same here in Wilds, perhaps you might even need to kill 1 more. You're really remembering it wrong, perhaps take off the rose tinted glasses.

I have 1700 hours in World and it wasn't because it made you farm monsters, it's because it was fun to fight them. It's the same here. Also, you may not need to farm for 1 set and 1 weapon but have you tried playing more than 1 weapon? Now that's a farm. Imagine collecting 30+ Zoh Shia horns.

Literally the same as World. Literally the same as Rise. What kind of end game are you expecting exactly? Do you want maps like Path of Exile? Dungeons? Raids? Rampages?

Capcom are still yet to act but at least wait for them to act on this. If they do not then we can start dumping on them.

It's funny how you compare this to World and claim World is better in so many ways. You truly do remember World wrong. Wilds is literally following the same path that World took. There is no more or less content than World at the same point of release of the games.

You say "everything" was more meaningful. Can you provide examples? What do you mean by "meaningful"?
