Game crash in 5-10 min
I'm 200hr+ , game worked fine before but I've been experience serious crashing for the past few days, basically launch game and it will definitely crash in 10 min no matter what i do, even in game title page.

My PC setup :
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
NVIDIA RTX 4060
RAM 16G

Troubleshooting Tried:
1) Rollback NVIDIA GPU Driver to 572.16 and other not-latest version
2) use -dx11 launch option (game seems last a bit longer but still crashes)
3) Validate files via steam
3) delete shader.cache2 and let it rerun for like hundred times
4) Use DDU to clear my driver
5) I even reinstall my entire windows to make sure there's nothing cached or corrupted left before
6) literally everything i can find suggest by community post

none of these seem to help, I now seriously doubt this is CAPCOM's issue...

Another one...

What the game changed the most is updated the directstorage version.
That one is depending on the CPU and the SSD/NVMe the game is installed on.

Now the bad news, these are the current minimum requirements for the game:

Minimum:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows®10 (64-bit Required)/Windows®11 (64-bit Required)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-10400 or Intel® Core™ i3-12100 or AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660(VRAM 6GB) or AMD Radeon™ RX 5500 XT(VRAM 8GB)
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 75 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p (upscaled from 720 native resolution) / 30 fps under the "Lowest" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported.

Your CPU is officialy not supported and sadly lacks many features the required CPU's have and support. So the issue could be related to the new version of direct storage that has no proper support for your CPU. Maybe you can walk around this by downgrading the directstorage dll of the game (like the linux users did), maybe this will solve it for you as a temporary workaround. But in the long run, its sadly an unsupported hardware issue on your end.
Ryzen 7 1700 (hey that's the same cpu :Scissors: )
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
Ram 32gb

Also crashing. Seemed to last 5-10 minutes before I tried dumbing down the graphics, reinstalling game and graphics drivers, now it crashes in 3 minutes or less. It only crashed a couple times in 30 hours of play, prior to the update introducing Mizutsune.

I have a Ryzen 7 5800tx coming in on Thursday. If game works after, I'll post again here... I know that won't exactly help you to know, but maybe it'll help devs.

I am not so sure about that being a DStorage isssue.

Reasoning: when the game got released it was a popular modification to upgrade the DStorage files. So much so, that I also put it in my guide as recommendation, after testing it to be safe.

There were cases where it did not work and actually caused issues - yet all those cases could be understood as the issue is explicitely marked within the crash report to be caused by DStorage.

While threadstarter has not shared their reports, I have checked another case where it was suspected to be a DStorage issue and could not find any indicator that it was actually the culprit.

But I have not enough information either as the result of the suggestion to downgrade the DStorage files were never reported back.

We almost have the same setup besides from the 4060. I run 2060. And downgrading the directstorage didn't help my case. Full disclosure, I didn't know if I did it right but I downloaded the file and copied it to the MHWilds Folder just as instructed.

That is sufficient to do it. You can check the results in the crash report - and actually see the reason for your crash there + the DxDiag report

I am getting the same exception code as him (C0000096). I don't know if that helps. I have a crash report from April 8 (Before changing the directstorage file) and April 11 (After changing the directstorage file) and they still have the same exception code. I have no background in computer so I don't know if theres any difference at all. I just read about that part and those two look the same to me. I don't want to hijack this post by pasting my crash reports here but I can certainly send you a copy of both if you want.

You can make a new thread with sharing your DxDiag report and the crash report - I can take a look, though I cannot guarantee a fix. Currently I am still trying to investigate the Zoh Shia / Ud Nudra crash, but I am lacking user feedback.

Okay. Sure. Thanks
your cpu is 60% slower than the recommend cpu. You're chip is 8 gens old, and 8 years old. I love you for not causing ewaste, and using what works but this game is so POORLY unoptimized that you HAVE to brute force the performance. Just get on facebook market place, get yourself a 3000 series or 5000 series chip for like 50 bucks. Since you bought this game for 70, another 50 shouldn't hurt either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

you guys are ditching their CPU so hard, but i'm having the same crash as his, and my CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600, paired with a RX 6650XT, and my game is crashing at random, when i change areas, after i loaded my character idle at the village, on the main menu.
there was even one occurence where the game was running fine in the background, and the crash report tool popped up while the game was just fine in the background.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do have a plan for upgrading, though if I could get the game to play without spending more money, that would be better! But if not, I will take a long rest from this game and come back after some time when I got my upgrade. Or until capcom decided to pity us and get some ninja fix

i have exacty a same problem
Right everyone is bashing the CPU when that most likely isn't the issue. I have a intel i9-13900k and I too am having the same issues. Been happening ever since the first update to the game. I honestly think its a Capcom issue as I have tried almost everything and nothing works. Also am running a 4080 and all (my PC is no potato) and this is the only game that will crash on me...

I am absolutely certain your bad PC setup is at fault. And not the game.
But you are free to believe whatever you want.

What bad PC setup are you talking about? I have a prebuilt Starforge PC and I have never had a problem with any other game. This is literally the ONLY game that gives me problems.

Hell I have even tried all your suggestions you gave me in the past, which thanks for the support. But nothing has worked. I was able to play the game flawlessly until the first update was released. It bricked everything since then.
