Tetrad Shot
Does this skill even work? Been playing around with HBG last couple days. Tested a normal shot build and for some reason the dmg on the 4th shot doesn't go up at all.

Dmg varies from 68-69 (nice) and every now and then ther's a single 100+ dmg hit in the mix. It's surely not the fourth (last) shot of the clip.

Is there an internal cooldown?

it works but i dont think the calculation works as it says. Either way to me it just seems worse than other damage boosters.
tetrad shot is dependent on your mag size and the effect resets when you reload, so if you only have a mag size of four it will only proc on your fourth shot. the affinity increase starts with the fourth shot and stays until you reload, while the attack increase is only on the fourth and sixth shot in the mag.
I think it is the opposite of Opener.
i.e. Opener boosts the first shots of a clip while Tetrad Shot boosts the later shots in a clip and incentivises having a larger clip-size.
That said, I know Tetrad Shot works with Bow Coatings too. I'm not sure if Opener does or not, but I don't believe so.

Arkveld HBG with mods has a 4 shot clip. That's why i don't get it. Maybe because it's only counting the base ammo size without the mods :sunekosuri:
it should still work with magazine mods, and as far as I'm aware there isn't an internal cooldown on the effect. for me its one of those skills thats nice if you have nothing else you want or if the weapon comes with it. its also not bad for crit based builds if you have a large mag size. I also enjoy opening shot as well, mainly for the reload speed, but if you use a gun with an intentionally low mag size (like three or less) opening shot starts putting in some work.

It seems to do work and i'm shrimply to deep that i couldn't see it. Opening shot seems to do more than Tetrad :mhwilds_grr:

Is spare shot a thing on decos in WIlds? Could have nice snyergy with Opening shot.
there isn't currently any deco or set bonus that gives spare shot.

you know that you can get 6 shots out of a 4mag.

Not if it's a base 2 and reaches 4 with 2 mag mods.

normal shot directly followed by a chaser shot( when you kneel down and shoot twice) gives you a total of 3 shots per 2 ammo.

2 mag 3 shots
3 mag 4 shots
4 mag 6 shots
5 mag 7 shots
6 mag 9 shots

That is, if you got the time to commit to the animation. I'd rather burst step and chaser on the last shot in many cases.

it works the same with burst step as with of normal shot.

It ONLY benefits the 4 shot, and any shot on or after the 6th. They build up for how it does more damage means that 6 shots is the most optimal, otherwise you are losing out on damage getting to that point. The difference in damage on the 4th shot is not fantastic, even at tetrad shot 3.

Opening shot is way better than tetrad unless you have exactly 6 shots.
