I use chatgpt to help me analyze the crash file and code ...C0000005 or C0000096
I've made many changes to my computer system over the past few days due to game crashes. I deleted all the software that ChatGPT identified as potentially causing the crashes. I even disabled many software overlays and set the paging file size to 30GB, yet the game still keeps crashing.

I also tried verifying the game files, deleting the config and shader.cache2, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but none of these steps were able to stop the game from crashing.

Hello,

After the April 4th, 2025 update of *Monster Hunter Wilds* (Steam version), I have been experiencing consistent crashes whenever I access the "tent customization/edit" interface. The crash happens 100% of the time regardless of graphic settings or resolution.

There have been **two different crash codes** observed during these incidents:

---

【First Crash】
- Exception Code: **C0000005 (Access Violation)**
- Fault Module: MonsterHunterWilds.exe
- Trigger: Occurs during UI interaction inside the tent menu
- Likely related to memory access violation during rendering, UI logic, or controller input.

---

【Second Crash】
- Exception Code: **C0000096 (Privileged Instruction)**
- Fault Module: MonsterHunterWilds.exe
- Crash Address: 000000014BEECDB2
- Indicates the game attempted to execute an invalid CPU instruction, likely caused by corrupted logic or malformed executable code.

---

I have attempted the following troubleshooting steps:
- Updated and rolled back GPU drivers
- Cleared cache and local game config
- Disabled all advanced graphical features (DLSS, Reflex, etc.)
- Disabled all background programs and overlays
- Verified game file integrity multiple times

The issue persists after all these actions. Please help investigate if these crashes are related to the recent update and if a patch or hotfix is planned. I am willing to provide `.dmp` files or detailed logs if needed.

System Environment:
- Windows 10 64-bit (Build 19045)
- AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (Driver version: 32.0.15.6636)
- No mods or UI customizations

Try disabling expo/xmp in bios and see if it's more stable, as it's known to cause the first crash on some people's computers
Also don't use chatgpt for technical issues, especially on newer games.

i didn't use expo/xmp, thanks for your reply

Unfortunately, I never encountered any game crashes before the update on April 4th. Since the update, no matter what I try, I haven't been able to fix the crashes.

But ChatGPT can help me analyze the code in the crash report files and how it might have caused the issue, since I can't understand those crash report files myself.

It's likely an optimization issue and no amount of troubleshooting will fix it. Either they make this game run better on older GPU's or you'll have to upgrade to something with 16GB+ VRAM (which isn't worth it for this game alone).

Temporarily lowering the settings/resolution to heavily reduce VRAM usage helps if you're crashing with specific boss fights.

Also: That "VRAM" bar Capcom made when you're changing graphic settings is misleading: The game uses waaaay more than what's indicated.

imagine using ai slop thats wrong the majority of the time for anything lol
ChatGPT will just make ♥♥♥♥ up, and as you have just said, you have no way of knowing if it is or not.

1. why the new thread? We already told you the source of your issues

2. Copy & Paste:

Sadly i have to tell you like many have already reported and confirmed here, the last title update did also upgrade the directstorage version of the game, where your Ryzen 1000 CPU is no longer supported and will result in all kinds of crashes.

Even the official minimum hardware requirements want at least a Ryzen 3000 CPU. Sry for the bad news (again).

TLTR: Your CPU is no longer supported since the last update of the game. Below minimum specs.

Nah, the issue is specificly know, proven and explained. Outdated hardware and unsupported(missing CPU features), even below minimum required hardware requirements.

Dude literally made the exact same post 10 hours ago.
