Black Screen of Death, PC freeze/shutdown
So far, I haven't had a chance to enjoy this game. I start the game and usually spend about 20 minutes with the shader optimisations.

Then I finally get the main screen so I can select which server to go to, and then I load into the game, and bang, Big black screen, my headset telling me my PC has stopped working and is trying to find a pairing with somewhere.

On the few occasions I have managed to get past this bit and fight a few monsters, I have reached the oil caverns or whatever they are called. But more often than not, it keeps crashing my PC.

I have tried making sure all game files are verified, deleted, and re-downloaded the game.
I have tried downgrading the graphics settings, and still getting the same thing happening.

I have found that this is the only game with which it is happening, making it unplayable at the moment for me.

If anyone has a fix, I'm willing to try it, as I feel that I have paid for the game but cannot play it.

a few things to look at>

Check the power cable to the gpu if its a 12vhpwr. sudden black screens are a symptom of melting cables.
do a clean install of the graphics drivers.
what temps are you getting?
check the PSU make sure its not failing

If you can't actually run the game for whatever reason, refund before it is too late for you.

Fact is, this game got problems and if you go past that time allotted, you will be at Steam's mercy for a refund.
I'd recommend DDU'ing and installing the latest NVIDIA drivers from their website.

If your shader comp is taking LITERALLY 20 minutes, there is likely something wrong with your CPU (like it's overheating)

An overheating CPU can definitely shut a system down.

It's just a garbage game. I only crash with this game, not with anything else. I can even run a 100% CPU/GPU stress test for hours with no issues.
