How Element on Artisan LBG works?

What i'm trying to understand is - does the dedicated element of artisan lbg works on other shots,like for every other melee weapon,or does it only amplifies the elemental ammo itself. I craftet a dragon,fire and water element artisans and tried normal shot with each of them with all proper decorations of each element,and can't really get a consistent testing of damage with all this positioning,crit spots and random enhancements of artisan itself - so i was hoping somebody could explain to me whether dedicated element even works on normal shots.

normal ammo is not affected by the element of the artian lbg. If you would like to deal fire for instance, craft an artian lbg using all fire components, you will then get access to fire ammo

ah - so dedicated element only opens that specific ammo for said artisan.Thank you

For Artian Bowguns, that is to say both LBG and HBG, you're better off making the Status versions than the Element versions. They're the same except with more ammo options.
Blast LBG can Rapid Fire Ammo, Poison LBG can Rapid Water Ammo, Paralysis LBG can Rapid Thunder Ammo, and Sleep LBG can Rapid Ice Ammo.

But to confirm: Bowguns don't have a direct element damage value. They just fire the respective elemental ammo types, and the elemental damage is calculated directly from the raw damage of the bowgun.
