Yes, that is also a minor annoyance. I don't personally consider the imersiveness of an NPC entering and exiting their home to be worth how bothersome it is to wait for them to exit so you can get the meal.
The problem is that you somehow magically know someone wants to offer you a meal from 10 miles away in real-time, and also somehow know exactly when the offer has been rescinded as if by telepathy.
This is the sort of thing that little courier Felynes should be sending you letters like Animal Crossing for.
Also the maki invitation (oil basin) bug alrdy fixed after TU1.
I don't always miss an invitation when I do a quest, but it does happen. It's more frustrating when I would not get offered a meal for a while, then the moment I enter a quest I see the offering pop up in my chat log.
Also, in kunafa village, there have been many occasions where they're in their little hut and I have to wait for them to walk out before I can accept the meal.
