There's armor spheres in it too as someone pointed out. Plus you can recycle the lower tier parts into higher grade if you like with melding. I think it's more geared toward late arrivals to the game to get the up to speed but... Honestly, you can get tier 8 parts early on enough to where lower rank is rather unnecessary. But what do I know, I'm not a game dev lol.

Actually the star of this quest are the other monsters that always spawn.
I mistook this tempered Rathalos close to the Basecamp for the target and killed it in like one combo, which really surprised me.
Turns out all the other monster in this quest are tempered but super weak. You can hunt them in under a minute and get full carves.
