Answered a SOS, the host got mad at me for "not doing enough damage"...
... When I was busy throwing healing powder on him because he kept getting hit by literally every single attack, and his heals interrupted because he didn't move out of the way before trying to chug a potion.

I'm sorry for caring about your health and safety, Host, next time I'll just let you get carted?

RE-EDIT: There's too many mixed opinions here to decide if there's a "right" way that hosts generally want me to play, so I've decided I'm just going to keep doing my powders, and if the host doesn't want me doing it, they can tell me to stop or kick me.

Ah right, they put heal powder and heal bullets into the game because we're not meant to use them.

Gotcha.

Aight, but if the mission fails, I don't want to hear them complain because they sucked at dodging the attacks.

you're top priority should always be hitting the monster, trust people to handle themselves, provide support in your downtime, the most surefire way to ensure a player isn't taking damage is to be killing the monster.

you aren't in the wrong for trying to help, but you also shouldn't be giving up the only thing that progresses the fight to do it

I stopped trusting them to handle themselves after they got hit 5 times in a row and couldn't get the time to heal themselves.

Is this the player you had to suffer with?

I will never tell someone how to enjoy their game. I have no qualms with damage meters or mods. I generally don't care if someone comes into my game and one shots the monster. I'll just hunt it again.

but because speedrunners and tiktokers/youtubers use damage meters, people think it's an excuse to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
There's a way to block them, why chance running into him again?

thats nice and all but does not change what i said, if they cart they cart. the most effective way to ensure it doesn't contuine is, to quite frankly, start making wounds and hitting them to juggle the monster lol.

just let em cart and get back to fighting, you gave it a shot but you dont need to do it if its just gonna keep happening

EDIT: Okay, gotcha, apparently I should not use heal powder or heal bullets. Saves me the trouble of having to use resources to craft them, then.

Thats what happens in a game full of elementary schoolers, thats also how they behave at school or anywhere, they start screaming and being agressive , because their brains aren't developed yet to solve situations in a normal way by using COMMUNICATION !
