my thoughts on the state of monsterhunter.
how i feel about wilds, issues i see, what i do and don't like. i won't be going over performance everyone already knows about that and i happen to find brief periods of super origami monster hunter hysterical. for starters the combat system as always is stellar, however i do have a few gripes, we got increased mobility easier cancels for most weapon times but in turn there is over use of extreme homing and large aoe's for monsters, these feel like lazy ways to tackle the issue, and ide much rather the older pacing if it means they don't have to resort to these things as much. i think the pacing is integral to mh and even though it's not bad i disagree with some of the changes. the Simplification of monster hunter has to end. having meat be psuedo ancient potions is very odd, and while they don't heal as much they still do an awful lot now, thought his is a minor gripe the outright removal of mechanics such as tracking the monster is completely unacceptable, this is monsterhunter, im sure you've heard what people have been calling it instead. additionally the food system has been simplified in a way that's a much bigger pain in the ass, having multitudes of options to pick from was really fun and gave us more robust options, having tiered food also makes the system clunkier, and doesn't feel good to me. to be honest ide still rather go back to the old skill system i know many don't agree with that because it's less convenient and frankly less op. but the old skill system seemed more balanced, and the state of the game in world where players were allowed and eventually encouraged to layer on an insane amount of damage skills ignoring the difficulty of most fights cannot be allowed to repeat itself. the weapon system btw doesn't seem to fix this as many offensive skills are still on armor, resentment, peak, agitator, burst ect, though i imagine it helps i'll have to play more to develop a more in depth opinion of it. monsterhunter has historically situated itself as a challenging but fair game, i want very badly for that to continue in perpetuity monsterhunter it seems to me was always made for a certain type of player, and it's not fair to that loyal player base who for your making often there favorite or even perfect game to generalise that to people that want the game to be different because it's not currently designed for them. there are very many games for just about everyone there are very few games for certain types of gamers if anything disproportionately so that people that enjoy specific experiences have very few chances to find there perfect games. if monsterhunter were to loose it's identity we'ed have no were else to go, this genera is monsterhunter, there is no one that can take your place.

and i don't want any comments to the likes of this game doesn't get to be hard, it's not a competitive game or anything ridiculous for that some of us PVE players actually enjoy a challenge and there's no reason it can't be, and yes it's always been fair but challenging just because it doesn't have over the top themes and marketing like darksouls. the idea that games not as extreme as that or competetive can't be tough is toxic, and i know in games it has been getting easier often to some extent more recently but ide like that to stop. there are SOME area's of challenge in wilds.

oh and my friends love status you really need to fix it cause it's freakishly broken, but not nerf it into the ground like iceborne ok? it does need to be fixed. also if you've been abusing status the entire game you don't get to say the game's easy. because of course it is when you don't have to actually fight the monster :P.
