what CPU do you have? and if you can also check, how many GBs of RAM do you have, the speed, and if they're in a dual configuration (2 slots)? you can check this by going to the easiest way to check these things are through the task manager, and opening the "Performance" tab (looks like a heartrate monitor), and clicking on "CPU" and "Memory". for the memory, it'll list the slots used and speed, those are important to determine if the game will run decent on your PC
I have the AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS CPUI, 16GB of RAM, 2 slots on a MSI Bravo 15 C7V. I've read that I would need to upgrade to 32GB RAM to get a decent run.
If you buy the PS version, you are stuck with what you get. And from what I read, it doesn't run all that well on PS and looks horrible.
EDIT: You also have to pay for PS Plus to play multi, lol. Otherwise, you'd be strictly playing single player by yourself.
Has anyone actually used GeForce Now to play the game, does it run locked 60 + fps ?
Geforce Now is a too expensive option for me. I'd need Ultimate for Monster Hunter Wilds and that's 22 euros a month
You realistically have 3 options :
- buy it on PS - only if the PS version runs better than your laptop AND you have 0 intentions to play multiplayer. If you want multiplayer, instead of PS Plus, better use option 2:
- buy GeForce Now otherwise and enjoy max framerates and free multiplayer
- play on your laptop natively with horrible performance and possible meltdown down the line. Cheapest, but is it really ? What if you laptop dies from constant overheating ? Battery degradation from constant charging/discharging during the hundres of hours of playing ?
That's why I suggested it. PS version has very limited use if you have a PC/laptop available.
Nvidia and Playstation are heavily astroturfing the steam forums.... they want people to buy the next gen console. its actually bloody sad to see the steam forums become a breeding ground for playstation astroturfers. We get it everyones moving to PC and the consoles ceo's are scared
PS Plus Essential is 9 euros vs 22 euros for Geforce Now Ultimate.
This game has performance issues on PC and I have a gaming laptop that struggles running the game. It's not astroturfing, it's a legit question.
- do you find Playstation performance acceptable ? There are a ton of showcasing videos on Youtube.
If it looks alright to you, go ahead and play it on Playstation. If not, you only have one option - GeForce Now. AFAIK they use a 4080 (soon 5080 I guess) for the Ultimate tier, you can look the performance for that too.
You can also check how your laptop runs the game - I think they still have the benchmark on Steam (it's about 20GB download, mind you) and it's pretty close to the live version. But I think that 4060 laptop (which is about 3060 level of performance) will struggle, especially with 8 GB VRAM.
What CPU does your laptop have? 60+ FPS on high doesnt sound bad. Do you have 16GB of RAM or more? Does it drop FPS in the town Benchmark? Also, your settings are on high, Is that DLSS or FSR? Quality/Balanced/Performance?
Also, what cooling fan do you use?
