Unoptimized game, frame gen broken...
So I'm playing this on 1440p with a i9-14900k & RTX 4080 Super at Ultra settings, DLSS Quality.. changing the upscaling mode appears to do very insignificant changes in performance and lingering over 60-70 FPS, doesn't feel right at all. Turning Frame Gen on results in the game constantly crashing within minutes at a time. How is this a consumer friendly product, shame because I like the game but eh... Such a turn off. And I don't know if all Monster Hunter games are like this, but I seriously remember MH:Worlds looking far better, this game is just so fuzzy and gross looking, textures are all off.. Character textures look great and objects look like someone smudged crayons into them. "Ultra" doesn't seem very ultra at all.. What is up with it?

"Update your potato PC" is the only thing you will have here.

Disable all OC or Undervolts on your GPU. That made my game crash everytime, might help. (9800x3d, rtx 4080)
EDIT*: And disable the ultra texture pack, if you have it installed.

Lol, yeah typical.. I Imagine most people will come in here saying that, but seriously.. The game is so jank at the moment, even the brightness settings appear to not be working as intended.
Try this out, it helped me out with alot of this game bad optimization.

Thanks, I'll take a look. :sothappy:
Something's very wrong on your side if you only get 70 fps WITH framegen.

Make sure you're on correct drivers.

This is not a consumer friendly product unless consumer friendly is paying almost 2k for a GPU that will struggle to run the game unless you want it to look as ugly as possible thanks to upscaling.

This is a game you get in 5 years from now once technology catches up or should I say if it catches up. All they had to do is use a different engine but why do that when there is enough rich idiots that upgrade every time new GPU comes out.

I wouldn't even be mad if the game looked good it looks mid.

This is nonsense.

You can play this fine in high settings 1440 on a 1400 usd rig.

something is wrong with your setup/configs, I get stable 60fps at 1440p with no framegen on ultra with RT on medium. If you're crashing when enabling framegen, the game is not the problem, something is broken with your drivers/gpu.

Running same settings you are and my framerate is very stable and nothing looks smudged on a 4070ti with a 5600x and 32gb ddr4.

One thing to note is that intel dropped support for avx-512 from 12th gen onwards and REEngine relies on that for maximum performance.

Try this workaround, let me know if it works. I'm able to pull 60+ stable FPS on Ultra (70+ on high) (with balanced DLSS), but only when booting the game with low textures and changing the texture res in-game. Otherwise I'm down to the 30s on High.

sad as ♥♥♥♥ i'm at the same boat, 4070 super and struggling to run the game, at least is playable enough for me, on my ps5 the game is very pretty and stable on balanced at least to play with a controller, with a mouse i need to change to performance mode the resolution there is awful but the game still pretty enough and playable, those wo got a ps5 pro are the ones playing some of the best version of the game for a good price ( compared to a pc ), kinda suck that having whey better hardware or game versions differs way less to consoles then some time ago. today all we have is frame above 60, high native resolutions and path tracing IF and wen we can run it...

Post your full specs, settings, driver, windows etc....

threads like this are the equivalent of crashing into someone else with your car because you didn't do maintenance and something failed, and then calling the manufacturer and saying every car of that model crashes because a couple dozen other people crashed with it in similar circumstances when they've sold millions of the specific car. You not knowing how cars work doesn't justify this. :P

Just a small reminder that this game sold 10 million copies and it still peaks at 800,000 people on pc. Looks like a playable game to me. :P

No, not with frame gen... As I said with frame gen on, the game crashes. This is without frame gen turned on.
