again it all comes down to opinion. i'm sure there are people who think it's weird i like to pretend i'm the bad ass hunter killing the monsters, rather than just imagining some cute girl doing it instead.
In multiplayer games like this one, I usually go with the first one, so everyone knows I'm a huge, muscular guy with a deep voice and a giant sword.
Otherwise, yeah, if I'm looking at or listening to a protagonist I can make myself, they're probably going to be a hot woman. I didn't do it in this game, but I think it's easy to understand.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's women out there that do the exact same thing but in reverse, but whenever we see a male character, we just automatically assume the player is male, too, and never ask any questions.
Why the hell not? Christ, let players play what they want to play.
