Guys who play as female characters, why?
Man I can't count on 200 hands how many guys I've seen and met who has a female character. Its the mods isn't it?

Because when I create a character, I do it off a....image in my head?

For example, lets use Wilds. I usually make a character for each type of weapon, looking a specific way, with very specific armor choices, because I'm trying to recreate in game what I saw in my mind.

In this case, when I saw the Insect Glaive, I instantly made a almost Ariel disney princess, with bright red hair. Why? That's just who I saw.

When I play a healer, i USUALLY pick a female character. Why? Because it...fits? Not sure how to explain it.

Why would I ever play a dude?

It's not really a big deal, but if I'm going to get to choose to put someone in front of me with no gameplay difference, why would I ever choose something I found less aesthetically pleasing?

I constantly alter what type of character I play and usually play a mix of both. In story driven games a lot comes down to voiceacting for me. I play on the German dub and half the VAs they casted for the main characters do a lot of VA work, so I simply know their voices from commercials etc.

I personally just find voice 2 to be the most pleasant to listen to, so due to my character speaking a lot, I chose to play a female character in Wilds.

Additionally I also like the "badass female lead" archetype and with the removal of genderlocked armors I can finally play that, without being dressed in a bikini.

I've picked the female body type since the first game and it didn't have mods. I've just always done so and didn't really think much of it. The only time I didn't was when I did a challenge run/cosplay of Mogul Kahn where in MHGen, i only use Adept Swaxe and only in axe mode.

I wouldn't let 5 minutes in any game world lol I don't wanna play a half blind, half deaf, 1 armed, bad hip, bad knees, varicose viens hero 🤣🤣

But I don't get immersed in games either :aushrug: however for me it just became habit after some time, and I don't know why I started. I do remember some older games offering better cosmetic looks and design for females.

Seeing a skinny lady carrying a big weapon looks more impressive and fantasy-like. In other games it could be just because of a smaller hit box. Male artists draw female characters all the time in comics and anime. The only confusion people may be having is their own sexuality.
