Not if you don't have the mats to begin with. I farmed for Tranq bombs like twice and said never again.
One of the main reasons I Capture is because other random hunters tend to be disgustingly egotistical. If someone gets carted or knocked off a cliff or something and can't get back to the monster at the end in time to carve it, they're screwed. Most other hunters couldn't give a toss less and just keep on slashing away... but nobody else seems to care about that. I Capture so I can guarantee everyone gets their parts.
I've got it accepting a meal from the Keepers.
I much preferred the narrative that when you captured a monster, you signed it up for a fate worse than death. You keep it alive to study it, THEN take it apart for pieces.
I like my Monster Hunter to be a bit less greenpeace and a bit more Helldivers. I always had this sense that the title of this franchise had dual meaning. I preferred to thing wee are the the ones who put the 'monster' in Monster Hunter. WE (humankind) are monsters that hunt.
