Game won't stop crashing
I don't know what Capcom did today, but ever since the new patch came out, my game has repeatedly crashed after 5 minutes. My game was running fine before even though I have a Intel Core i5-11400F and a RTX 3070.

Is there any other possible way for me to fix this? I tried verifying my game files and deleting the shader.cache2 file but nothing worked :(

you are not alone my dude. I was getting very upset after I tried everything and the game refused to work. My rig is even very similar to yours, they must had done something in the patch that made it unplayable for some of us. I found another thread similar to this not long ago.

Yeah same here, I spent ~30 hrs in the previous patch with no issues (Intel CPU and 3080), no mods. And after the most recent update, I started seeing crashes within 1 hr into the game quite often, they definitely messed up something but I'm afraid they would not take any actions on this. It's basically not playable at this moment.

Yeah, I saw that thread and just skimmed through what people said. Nothing has worked so far and I fear that I might not even be able to play the game again. Have you also tried most of the steps to try and make it playable again? I'm currently re-downloading the game so hopefully that fixes it.

Ya, I reinstalled, redid drivers, cache, absolutely everything under the sun and anything I could find online. The game just crashes randomly and often after just a few minutes, sometimes at launch. Hopefully they address this soon enough. Game is completely bricked and unplayable.

Use tip #16 here and try again - reset the game if you used mods, like e.g. REFramework

If the issue persists, share a DxDiag report

When you crash, is it just the game crashing or is your monitor/pc unresponsive as well?

My issue is that ever since the "update" they did yesterday, after 10 minutes, my game just freezes together with my entire pc. I can't even use Alt + F4 or open the task manager. It literally freezes my computer, so my only option is to hard reset my pc.

I am using 3080TI, 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12950HX, 64GB ram.

You describing faulty hardware there. That is no a game issue.

I'd like to believe that is true. However, none of the other games/apps I have used and are using do/did this. I run Elden Ring on the highest settings, and I have never crashed once in that game. The same is true for other games I've played. Moreover, as I've said, this was not happening before yesterday's updates, which leads me to believe that whatever they did on their update yesterday messed something up.
I am eager to see your reasoning as to why you think it can be a hardware issue other than you just stating it.

I thought so too until I experienced the same thing as well. I got froze right before I posted this and I saw lots of leaving during hunt a lot lately as well. So I guess it might be something about the update.

That means nothing to tech support. Just because "you drove your whole life a car and never crashed" it does not mean you cannot crash if circumstances arise.

Using a car analogy does not really fit here because cars don't have "updates" they can ship out. Once you buy a car, that's it. It's not like they can update your wheels or your engine after 2 months. As aforementioned, the game was okay before the update, but after their update yesterday, it's unplayable.

Are you using a bluetooth controller? Try disconnecting and use wired.

It's not faulty hardware. The game uses hardware acceleration and that can also cause the freezing/crashing described if it's implemented in a bad or buggy way.

Since you only see it with the game, it's the game. Now if you see freezing elsewhere or bluescreens, then that is the time to consider a hardware issue.

You aren't alone though, many are complaining about it and it's yet another issue only the devs can fix.

But because there are so many issues with this game from how it accesses storage, to even getting caught by Windows' automated security, it's impossible for anyone to guess what the problem is.

But since it apparently runs and does so for a while, then it's unlikely it's a hardware issue -- also games or programs crashing is what is supposed to happen when an error occurs in Windows -- that's a good thing versus a system freeze or blue screen

I would try starting the game with NOTHING else running -- no overlay and no recording software and see if it is more stable.
crash when trying to start the game....
