Worth $55 on sale?
I'm wondering if this game is good enough in it's current state at a price of $55 on sale (via IsThereAnyDeal). Is performance the main issue or is the game really as bad as people make it out to be?

It's honestly not.

I like monster hunter so I got it, but it's not worth the price full stop.

Gameplay. Good.
Performance. Bad.
Endgame. Meh.
That's my giga summary after over 100 hours.

You really need to make your own decision here, no one here can make it for you.

-The performance is an issue, but manageable if you're willing to use framegen or you have a good computer, I'm managing to run 80-100fps on average on my crappy 3060 but my game looks like it has a permanent brain fog filter on.

-Gameplay is fun, but the story is really oppressive this time. (20 minutes of story/walking, yes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walking. per 3 minutes of gameplay) This wouldn't be an issue in another game, but this is monster hunter. It gets better once you clear the story and get into high rank, but it takes much longer this time than in previous titles. Maybe this wouldn't be an issue if the story was any good, but it's not unless you enjoy a story about milk. It's the same Monster hunter, just extended to be much much longer for some reason.

-Multiplayer is a mess during the campaign, but again, gets better once you're done with the story. You have to watch all the cutscenes in singleplayer before you can join a friend on said quest after which they get booted and you need to do the whole process again. Every single monster has it's own introductionary story beat so you're going to have to do this for every monster if you're playing with a friend.

But yeah honestly if you can run the game and can suffer through the 20 hour tutorial (Story) then it does get quite fun. Still though, there are better monster hunter games on steam if you haven't played them, mainly Rise but I'd wager even World is miles ahead of this game.
