Help with controls

Hbg when I press R1 to shoot the focus atk(wyvern howl?) It stays in that "mode", is there a button to swap back to regular ammo / special? Atm I need to double tap L2(aim). Am on manual aim setting.

2. Is there a way to pull out the slinger with weapon drawn?

I may be doing something wrong but I found that when using the HBG I couldn't use the slinger with weapon drawn.

But with other weapons you can just press the left thumbstick in to fire the slinger.

As for the focus attack, that's odd because I thought for me it just fired off the shot then was automatically back in normal "mode". Maybe it takes a few seconds.

So from what works for me, with HBG while aiming(I use toggle mode), L3 will shoot slinger BUT the special pods dropped from wound breaks can't be fired this way.
Yeah the focus shot thing is still an issue for me. I'll need to go looking through the options menu again I guess. It's super annoying
