And of course, we already know what the game is all about.
I started with Monster Hunter Tri (Wii) and Portable 3rd. Back then, I didn’t really understand the basic game mechanics. I wasn’t building armor properly, didn’t care much about crafting, and completely ignored tools like traps and flash bombs. I didn’t even understand elemental weaknesses of monsters or how skills added damage. I was basically a fashion hunter in the older gens, picking the cool armor.
After a long break, I picked it up again when it came out on PC. I struggled with MH World at first, but as you play through countless hours, you start to gain experience, and that’s when I really started trying harder and finally learned the game. By the time Wilds came out, the skills and hours I’d invested in World and Rise was transferred , making the game feel much easier.
For newcomers to the franchise, though, it can still be pretty tough and overwhelming at first.
Forgot to mention: Focus Mode is another QOL improvement. It makes the game more fun and easier to play. With 360 degree TCS and SAED, you have more control over aiming your weapon.
So no, not easy. Starts easy but gets pretty hard at the end.
Most players have beat Fatalis or at least been to high rank. They're starting Wilds in low rank. Of course it's going to feel easy.
I think that this monster hunter has a more accessible low range and a difficulty curve that is more friendly to new players, but I don't think it will leave veterans aside, there will be challenges for us too I suppose.
So it's too early to say anything, and the Capcom team knows their veteran players, so I wouldn't worry about having difficult challenges and combats.
and the gore magala also returns, so we could have the virus again, which makes the infected monsters much more difficult.
However we have much more fluid movement and responsive counters now, allowing for much more skillful play.
So while its not easier , if you are good at the game you have a lot more tools to just avoid damage either through perfect dodges or block/parry
