Boiling Frog.
You know... Now the water is too hot for me. Now it's a issue. I didn't cared when World came out and Veterans were lamenting how much the game changed. I didn't cared, I liked it.

It's a funny feeling seeing as something you really liked is getting changed so much to please others and now suddenly you're the outcast and pariah in the community.

This truly feels like Monster Hunter Fast Food.

Capcom give us MH:GU port. You have the money. Or don't, at this point my growing apathy towards MH is leaking, Ryozo shouldn't have made Wilds. It's Monster Slasher, there is no hunting anymore.

I'm lamenting the fact that this series changed so much, it changed the CORE concept of the series. We were small person fighting Big scary Monsters that had semi-realistical basis. In older games tha atmosphere and the fact that Monster can beat you is something we lose in Wilds.

How am I to take this game seriously, if the monster is pushover. Everything starts crumbling apart the second you make monsters pushovers. There is no friction, there is no curiosity, there is no learning.

Low rank was always very easy in these games, whether you're fighting velocidrome in MHFU, seltas in 4U low rank, lagombi in rise, or great jagras in world, these monsters start limping in minutes. The challenge of monster hunter usually comes from expansions and Master/G rank. They've always felt like piñatas in low rank. I'm sorry, but you sound like someone who claims they're a veteran but doesn't understand how streamlined the game has already gotten. GU was already hack and slash. Back in the old games we didn't have the convivence of a radial menu or a training area that world and rise introduced.
You're right that Low Rank was always easy. But High Rank? Hell even in low rank you could easily get carted in older games if you didn't paid attention. HELL remember Anjanath from world? and for how many people he was the wall? There are no Walls in Wilds. You just steamroll thro everything.

I'm not asking for ball busting level difficulty, and neither I'm great at MH, but this feels like something is wrong. Hunts shouldn't take 4-7 minutes, even on high rank. My longest hunt was Tempered Arkveld and it was 13 min.

How am I to enjoy monster, figure out his moveset etc, when he dies in 6 minutes? I don't even get to enjoy it, and it feels awful to me. It's like fast food zoom zoom. And this series wasn't that.
It was always said that side entries were faster, had more wacky ideas etc, but not Mainline game.

Im far from a good player. Only time i carted was trying Jin first time after 7 beers.
Since then, never carted. It is DEFINATELY too easy.
High Rank Monsters need a flat +50% hp and +50% damage. Seikret needs nerf. Wounds need nerfs. Other than that, its a decent game.

Anjanath was only a wall for people who couldn't read the description of armor spheres lol. The entirety of that pushover's notoriety is from a handful of popular youtubers/streamers who exaggerated the games difficulty for views.

Judging by the amount of posts and issues, this wasn't just 3-4 guys and streamers. Dose Wilds offer anything resembling actual friction and monster that you need to ''Learn'' and not just Yolo wounds stagger time?

Game is good, the only reason I complain is because I like it and want it to be better. Monsters need more health, and to offer actually a little push.

GU is what peak mainline mh looks like sorry. Playing adept was your choise, not forced by the game like the clutch claw usage :p

Well at least with all the outcry we know that the people still playing when Master Rank comes out will be eating very good.

Well it's not like I can force you to read my post. Point of my post is to vent and find out what other people think.

Here we go with another 'back in my day' story. Look, if a series changes to accommodate new fans and you feel like it's not the series for you anymore then just find something new. I used to love playing what's referred to now as boomer shooters. They were all the rage and so much fun. Then everyone started playing CS and then fortnite. So I moved on. The market wasn't there anymore.

a heated frog will simply jump out, is the thing, the metaphor is based upon a faulty premise.

that said: capcom has consistently tried new things games after games, hunter styles, clutch claw, silk binds, focus mode, swimming; yada yada, its all the same fundamentally the same thing, with the same answer: not every game will cater to everyone, as much as i liked frontiers i never serious recommend it to people cause of its massive clunk.

if this one doesn't suit your needs, thats fine, maybe the next one is, there is still 7 other games you could play instead, much like all those people could have for world, in your original post

I 100% agree. In fact I'm not even sure why I'm replying. I've got nothing to add. You summed it up just fine.

It kinda was though. Best the series have been. It has been all downhill since then.

Nah, the majority of difficulty in GU was EX Deviants.
Also arguably G Rank Nargacuga. That dude walled me hard for a while.
Gotta admit I also had a hard time with that final Solo Advanced mission to beat all the flagships in a row... Managed it with a Heavy Shot Bow in the end.

Lies and damned lies. The water is a Miyazaki Poison Swamp.

Yea at this point I hope they just port over the old games to steam, I'll just play those and Frontier in perpetuity
After I'm done with this I'm installing Stories, reinstalling Stories 2, and playing those back to back. Stories was a better Pokémon game than any actual Pokémon game.

"Us" is a plural pronoun. It isn't supposed to be used when you're talking about just you, yourself, alone.

Letting things go is hard. And I'm stubborn.
