Legit tested this this for the last 2 days
The freezing of my PC has stopped thus far.
Glad it solved it for you.
Given that the game has massive memory leaks and doesn't even use half of the resources available on the system while running... I'd blame it on the program itself.
The devs are the cause, it's further proof they ported the code from console with a script...
If its steam mapped/driver based, then its actualy steam related. If its not, then its maybe game related.
yep, me too. it was crashing regularly for me within 30 minutes of starting it up. what's crazy is that it would still crash my whole pc when playing remote through my steam deck. i unplugged my dualsense and i haven't had a crash in close to 20 hours of play since i did it, remote or local.
It worked for me! Just plugged my ps5 controller on an usb instead using Bluetooth , played for 3 hours and no freezing so far!
I did some of the above fixes -- namely not using a PS5 controller whatsoever, as using one through USB instead of Bluetooth still caused a total PC freeze for me in my first hunt.
When using only Mouse and Keyboard (which, for the record, is a huge pain in the ass if you've been playing Monster Hunter with a controller up until this issue), I was able to finish one (1) hunt, but my computer would lock with more and more frequency as time went on, and it felt more like an accident that any of them didn't cause a total PC freeze. My expectation is that eventually, they would have, but I'm not really interested in playing until it happens when the game is basically unplayable because of the "minor" 4-9 second freezes in the first place.
I do not have technical issues playing the game outside of the freezing -> total PC freeze issue, and I do not experience technical issues on games with similar levels of technical spec demands. It is a MH: Wilds specific issue, and one I'd love for them to fix, as I do enjoy the game quite a bit outside of the fact that I can't even get through a hunt anymore without the game forcing me to restart my computer.
