Cool idea for Rey Dau
It would be really cool if breaking Rey Dau's horn makes it so that next time he does the super-charged lightning blast it discharges out the side with the broken horn and knocks him over. Then for the rest of the fight he doesn't try to do the super again.

Was chatting with friends while fighting him and proposed this idea. We all agreed that it would not only be visually amazing but would also be a really cool quality-of-life change to his fight. :steamthumbsup:

how is it fun to limit the number of attacks he can do? You want to make him easier? Or is less content better in your opinion?
I see your point but I'm not saying for him to stop with the lightning alltogether. Just the one that makes the screen go dark when he charges it.

Besides why would I need to make him easier when I'm already at HR95?
Plus it would add another way for some players to approach the fight. I use a greatsword and have had no trouble blocking or parrying the lightning, but if a player is having a lot of trouble dealing with it then this would provide an alternate approach to the fight. :)

I think it's in the spirit of monster hunter to focus attacks on specialised appedinges and severing them so monsters can't perform certain attacks, it's very rewarding, like glypceros and disabling the flash attack when breaking its head, maybe make it so you can break both horns and disable the attack altogether, with him trying once and failing to do the railgun attack, maybe tripping over like OP said, there's lots of monsters in Wolrd that have something similar happen to them, and all the Raths in Wilds fail to fly at least once when you break one or both of their wings, until they get used to it.

I've fought him with gunlance, greastword, both bowguns, sword and shield, switchaxe, longsword and hammer. Had no issues with any of them.

Hate to be that guy, but if they have trouble, it's quite literally a skill issue. We don't need to start slapping instant win buttons on fights.

Yes exactly! I'm not saying I want them to make it easier. As far as I can tell Rey Dau lacks this mechanic in any meaningful capacity.
Breaking a monster part to stop a monster doing a move is always good imo. Its a cool satisfying thing to do.

Also in this particular case it would make rey dau harder, since right now his ass goes on the floor everytime he does the railgun cause you just focus strike his face directly after.
