How, the FU*K, do you get whoppers to bite in this game?

I have been sitting here for two **** hours. They just REFUSE to bite.
Yes, I tried the duster bait
Yes, I tried the Joint bait
Yes, I've been moving it around
Any other fish bites any other bait, but these pieces of s**t refuse to even acknowledge it.
I looked at some videos, and people have them bite almost instantly. Is my game bugged or something?

Edit: Ok, restarting the game did it. It was indeed bugged.

Even though the bait 'says' it's for a certain fish. It really is a lie. Try any and all lures. Change methods of jiggle, slow reel, faster reel, or just swaying it left and right to get their attention. Eventually one of these methods will get their attention.

I think its bugged, I had to skip a lot of big fish and just reset the zone to get some of them to bite. took a while to get the 30.

go aim for tuna, they practically eat intended bait right away unlike other whoppers
