Constantly getting meal baited by villages
I'm always on the lookout for villages offering meals for that nice boost. Almost every time I go to claim it though, it's vanished. I only have about a 30% success rate of getting the damn things, seriously. Sild seems the most consistent, while I've managed to get in a couple of elusive meals in Kunafa despite frequent mirages. Azuz keeps promising without delivering, and Suja may as well not exist.

This is really feeling like a joke of an event glitch. Anyone else struggling to get some decent food?

Not reall, I have 0 issues with it, just a minor annoyance.
Pretty sure fast traveling advances time, and that is why i believe we miss the invites.

What is the point, then? It's guaranteed that we'll never make it in "time" if that's the case, and I don't want to run from the furthest point on the map from Kunafa, to Kunafa...

yeah it's annoying as all hell, hunts do the same thing and based on my testing fast travel and hunts all advance the time by at least 1 day, often more based on the environment overview tab, and resting seems to be the same meaning if you want to do something later you can't leave the environment or start any quest outside of what is in the locale. The whole system needs an overhaul if not in title update 2 then in the expansion at the latest.

you dont miss the invites actually. npcs have patterns, they re working, some of them on inaccessable places, if you wait a bit they ll appear.

unless its stormy weather, then most of the tribes take cover. you need storm to pass.

I agree, this is incredibly annoying. And I am pretty sure the devs will be adjusting how it works at some point (at least I hope so). But for now there's some things you can do that *occasionally* fix the problems:

The reason this happens seems to always have something to do with us arriving during an NPC's "routine" where they are not available. Like they're out exploring, in bed, or whatever. Specifically in the case of Maki (the Oilwell Basin NPC), I have also seen her meal icon X-ed out when standing and talking to another NPC near her house. When that happens, talking to the NPC near her seems to get her "unstuck". I have also seen her unavailable when running out of the village to collect materials. I followed her out into the field (which was really boring) and her and her group disappeared when a wyvern came by. A few moments later, she reappeared in the village, ready to give a meal.

So I think the solution in most cases is to either change the weather or change the time. For example, if it is night time, I assume the meal givers will be asleep. I suspect Maki leaves the village during times of Plenty, but I'm not positive on that. So maybe changing the condition to Fallow would keep her home? Not sure but I'll keep experimenting. Hopefully it'll be fixed before we have to come up with a freaking chart or something.

I wanna punch Maki repeatedly. The very first meal invite I got was her, so I go there and she is "X-ed" because she is collecting that ore from the festival. "Fine, I can wait a minute" - lol nope, that routine took FOREVER and by the time she was done, the meal was off the table, it expired.

I am mighty pissed at this point so I go on hunting. A little while later, Kunafa village offer a meal - finally, chads save the day. I go there only to find a sandstorm and everyone is inaccessible in their little huts. RAGE. Second time jebaited.

Hunting time again. Next invite is from the elf village - surely they can't jebait me 3 times in a row, right ? Wrong. I go there and it's night, everyone is sleeping in their tents and "X-ed".

Like, what the hell is this ? Granted, it's not always a bait, sometimes you actually get a meal, but these screwups happen way, waaay too often. And are all ridiculous. And waste our time. Definitely needs work.
Just click oin world map on the offering text?

I hope when they add the gathering hub with TU1 in April there'll be an actual canteen where you can eat full meals like normal without needing to farm ingredients.

Edit: I forgot to mention, villager meals is a big bonus and they're good and all but adhering to their schedule + weather is a bit much.

First, cat chefs need to come back, this outdoors camping meals is pathetic when you have furry pros.
Second, meals for zenny. I have all this ingame cash and all I can eat is rations or cook fish with butter. What is this ?
Third, cat chefs.

Can't wait for the update for these 3 reasons. Right now it's either self-cooked adventuring food or being jebaited by the villages, which just adds insult to injury. I'd offer my gear for some good food in this game. But nope, all you get is cabbage with hot chilli or fish with mushrooms (eEeewWWW)...

The ones that are usually MIA for me are the ones in the desert and the oil place, and it's usually either because a storm is happening in the desert (all the villagers in the desert hide during those) or Maki is talking to her grandpa or w/e and I have to go interrupt them so I can eat

I've found that, if I go to the region and the meal offer has disappeared, if I cook myself my own meal (with just rations to not waste ingredients), the meal offer will reappear and be available. I don't know if it always works, only done this a couple of times.
The day and night cycles seem to affect them, yeah, as i will try to go to one but the npc is no where to be found. i do wish capcom would fix this, i am also tired of being baited, because those meals are too good to pass up.
