Is Gore Madala supposed to be harder than Arkveld?

Running Tempered Arkveld is now casual, but today i decided I want to farm Tempered Gore Magala, and im mostly playing multiplayer cause im a healer.

The thing is, i had 3 batches on team mate dying very early in that monster fight in 2hours. More than what im used to with Tempered Arkveld. Is that boss considered hard or something? He does not seem to kit me harder than Arkveld does. I do have 446 armor tho..

It's because he does more damage than Arkveld which you probably don't notice since you have 446 armor. So he can 1 shot people that aren't fully geared yet with a lot of his attacks, while Arkveld 2 shots. (I know this because I farmed them both out in LR armor).

Also, a lot of newly finished quest players go to farm gore and arkveild due to those armors being BIS for a lot of builds, and gore is the only monster that 1 shots with a lot of his attacks before you have a high armor value. People probably aren't expecting anything to literally 1 shot them with most attacks, when nothing else did, including tempered arkveld up to that point.

to be fair, Gore has the potential to oneshot you if you don't pay attention to the Virus mechanic he got.

I think so, Gore is the juvenile form of Shagaru Magala. It's considered a Demi Elder which probably stands a bit higher than whatever Arkveld is. The adult form of the Gore Magala is called Shagaru Magala and is considered an Elder Dragon.

he very comfortably 1.1-oneshots me with strong upgraded armour, temp ark doesn't. I think it's just a matter of if he does one enraged claw dragging attack on a rando they're dead, combined with the hilarious camera issues fighting him in the cliffs where basically any part of it other than his 'last stand' kinda area is claustrophobic as hell and causes all sorts of mayhem to players, considering how aggro he is.

I'm just happy to have an enemy that can actually cart people in this game tbh, he's even more of a nutjob than in 4. The arena fight with him is more fun for sure just because you can actually see him and work with that

Just disable anything camera related then? Like I have it so that the camera only moves when I move it myself. I lose sight of Gore every now and then, but it's probably less annoying than having the camera flip around.

OH camera settings? i forgot those existed, I was assuming people just need to move away from the walls or something lmao

I find the camera to be the biggest obstacle when fighting Magala

is your camera zoomed out all the way? by default it is zoomed in to the character and you can change that if you havent. it would help a bit

Probably not.
But Gore's moveset was made when the game wasn't suppose to be THIS easy.
So his moveset is kinda unforgiving if you don't learn him yet.

Unlike Arkveld.

The thing with orthogonal design, sometimes a fight is harder or easier than intended. It's more of an art than science.

Magala is definitely harder for a number of reasons.

well against gore is a battle against a camera so there's that... but gore have so many frame traps attack thats why its harder

Yes.

Magala is an Apex that becomes an Apex Elder if it grows old enough, he can literally obliterate entire ecosystems.

Putting Magala in Rise and Wilds is like putting Fatalis and Savage Jho in world, it's literally outside the story and extra content to appease the nostalgia.

Tempered Gore is harder, yeah. Its pretty much the only fight in the game that offers any real amount of challenge. This means that normies/randoms have like a 10x higher likelihood to cart on it.

Gore Magala is literally my least favorite monster in any MH game.
Not because the fight is hard, all you do is just stand between his front legs and point your attacks towards the camera so you hit his legs and face, rolling towards him whenever he does anything. He also trips easy, is super weak to paralysis and gets instantly stunned when he's enraged.
No I hate him because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that designed the game made it so you needed the Gore Magala Feeler to upgrade the Gore Magala Hammer in 4U.
You know, the best stun weapon in the game? You know what happens when you stun Enraged Gore Magala? HIS FEELERS GO AWAY SO YOU CAN'T BREAK THEM!!!!!!! WHY? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CAPCOM!!!! I'M STILL MAD!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Tempered Gore just slaps me. It's definitely a harder fight than Tempered Arkveld is. Never fought Arkveld in the beta either and I've fought Gore tons before and Arkveld is a complete pushover in comparison.

Arkveld's moves are just way easier to deal with, much more telegraphed and don't deal insane chip damage through block whereas Gore just slams through anything I have with insane chip damage if I get hit, which is a lot because the camera likes to make me stare at his virulent cloaca for about 90% of the fight no matter what I do while the rest of him turns invisible and I can't see what the hell is going on around me.
