2nd weapons usage

Does anyone legitimately use the 2nd weapon, or just stick with your primary? If so, what scenario would require the use of 2 weapons in one fight? I get that a couple of monsters have 2 elemental weaknesses depending on state but I don't know why this is enough to warrant the devs putting the 2 weapon thing in

I carry two. Either a CB elemental and a CB status fully decorated to switch between a swift spree of monster killing, or I keep a CB and a different weapon if I'm wanting to practice a new weapon but I'm getting ragdoll'd too much then I go back to my primary for that fight

i mostly switch them between the fight so no i dont really use it

i myself main the dual swords. finding keeping a heavy or light bowgun on backup really helpful for if ♥♥♥♥ goes wrong, im helping someone who has a big shield and can tank like the gunlance. or if its a monster i just hate fist fighting. helpful

Primarily always run a gunlance as I'm the most comfortable with it but I keep it as secondary. I'll practice with charge blade, sword n shield as primary. If I get carted I'll switch over to gunlance just so I can make sure the party clears.
