Current state of the game + future forecast is very dissapointing.
This game is really fun and a nice addition to the MH universe... Until you get to end game.

Once you finish your story and reach endgame there is NOTHING to do. Most of the previously fought monsters get completely stomped when you go to challenge them because they aren't up to level with the player. The HR on monster quests caps out at 41 so no matter what you fight you wont be getting a quest higher than that.

As far as end game monster fights go there is really only 2-3 that qualify as even close to a challenge (arkveld, Gore, and Jin dahad) and after fighting those a good 50 times each they just become really boring fights. I don't know where the sense was selling this game for so much money and then providing such little content to play it with.

The thread that the have devs made doesn't bode well for things either, one monster release months apart is WILD work. Wait for spring for 1 new monster fight, then wait all the way until summer for one more monster fight. Where is the sense there?? Those monster fights should be getting added every 2 weeks minimum considering all of the previous monster hunter content from all the games but you guys expect all these people to want to fight the same monsters over and over again for months to get meager rewards and nothing to show for it.

This is all especially sad when the devs boast getting 8 million sales (which amounts to a minimum of $560,000,000) if everyone got the $70 version of the game but we all know this is not the case because lots of people got the $100 version, so they have made well over that amount of money. All that money and we get singular monster releases months apart from each other??? No thanks. You guys need to re-evaluate your thought process here because this just is not going to work. I personally expect more out of the company that just got well over 500 million dollars from people for a game and I know a lot of other people agree with that.

Before everyone starts jumping at me with their hate and disdain for all of what I just said just take a minute and think with common sense. YES there will always be people who will play the game regardless of if new things drop. I am not saying that the game will die off by any means because I am sure this game will stay relatively popular for a while. Here is where the problem lies. In the official Monster Hunter Wilds discord server I have met about 30-40 different people that I have had the opportunity to play with for several days in a row. Now of those 30-40 people there is only 2-5 that are still playing the game and the rest of them have not been on in days because they finished everything there was to do.

If you look at the steam charts the game is on a steady decline in player count and it will only continue down that path. I don't know why they decided it would be a good idea to release a game with so few monsters considering every single installment of monster hunter in the past has has not only more monsters but more things to do in general. It really feels like they rushed out a half finished game just in order to get revenue and did not think about the longevity of the game especially considering most people blew through the story in about 24 hours.

For the final thing I have to say to close this all up is the difficulty of the game. As I mentioned above the max level quest you can accept is HR 41 meaning that once you do those quests its not getting any harder its only getting easier. Most of the monsters you can find and hunt in the wild are all under that rank with the exception of the 3 I mentioned earlier (Gore, Ark, and Jin) Nu Udra might also be considered a rank 41 quest but I don't remember off the top of my head. This mechanic made no sense to me personally considering every single monster hunter in the past had scaling monsters. I could go and find the first monster I ever hunted and it would actually be sort of a challenge because it got a HP and DPS buff in higher ranks, but in this game once you see the highest level for a monster that's it, it doesn't get any harder than that. No scaling no challenge.

I mean the first year of World was a bunch of collabs and like 5 monsters. Wasn't until Iceborne where they added 20 more or so.

This is kinda how almost all MH game's do at launch they give you a half ass end game that's just there to buy time for the more serous players to stick around until the DLC expansion come's out and you get the actual MH game.

Like right now we don't even have half the game more like 1/3rd of the game.

Its my personal review covering all the topics I think are important after having experienced all the game has to offer so far. You don't have to read it if you don't want to.

I get it, but it doesn't make it any less sad. I have been around for the release of several monster hunters and this one is pretty much the same. The part that is really upsetting is that after all these years and all this money that they keep doing the same thing.

I've been around since the very fist game never missed one and yea it sucks we don't get the full game at launch.

Best I can tell you is play what little content there is and then go back and play the previous game with a overhaul mod or something and play that till new content comes out.

That's what I plan to do with World and Rise, hell before Wilds came out I started replaying every MH game from the first one to now and got to MHGU so I'll most likely go back to playing that until MH Wilds get's it's DLC expansion.

That's the nice thing about MH game's there all so different and never really do the same thing and mix it up enough you can always go back and replay the older game's and it'l still feel nice and fresh.

1. The series is successful, so why would they suddenly change the formula now? "Don't try to fix what isn't broken", as they say.

2. It's also Capcom... When have they ever really innovated on anything? Especially something successful? In fact, the times that they've tried this they were hit with massive amounts of negative reviews and inevitably unpopular games.
Take the Megaman series (including X and etc.), as an example. The further they got from the original MM formula, the worse the games did in terms of both reviews and sales.
So you can clearly see why they would rather iterate on what works than try again to do something unique and untested.

In other words.... You're barking up the wrong tree here.

Brother, if the monsters aren't fun because you have OP gear, take off the OP gear. Challenge yourself.

Genuinely wish I didn't buy this trash, but it's too late now. This story focus they're pushing in WIlds is horrible because these games really don't need that
Purpleetea Mar 10 @ 12:34am
Thats why its better with MH franchise to wait at least 12 months for fully upgrade and then buy it. While its not an "issue" per say but 12 months is not a big of a deal. Next main title i will def wait until expansion comes out at that point i will have more content.

I think the amount of content per buck is absolutly fine + it gets updates every few months with something new.

I have seen way way way way worse deals :D

I enjoyed my 80 hours so far
