Layered Armor
Being able to craft the beta versions but not use them as layered armor is stupid and they should change it. Just a quality of life convenience that is easy to do. I understand that you can pigment everything but it's still convoluted.

For the people saying it's wrong or misinformation, you must not know what layered armor is. You can obviously equip beta sets and wear them as is, but you cannot wear a different set of armor and choose a beta set as the layer.

This is from the Support FAQ and Manual of the game:

"Only the α (alpha) series of high-rank armor can be selected as layered armor."

Beta versions are usable as layered armors though? Most of the stuff my character is wearing is beta
Me when I post blatantly false information
Yah this is just wrong. I am doing that with my current set.
What are you talking about? Alpha and Beta look the same. If you want to make a layered set of the armor, you can certainly mix the Alpha and Beta. The only variants are within the Alpha and Beta sets.

:Pitter1: there's no point in the Beta Layered versions as both Alpha and Beta are indistinguishable. the only difference is the amount of decos and the skills the set gives you

Alpha and beta armors are just recolors. They'll probably remain that way until the expansion... probably. I'm just guessing here. Even in base MHW, the majority were recolors.

It wasn't until Iceborne that alpha and beta sets looked different.

There is a slight difference in coloration and how that affects your custom pigments but that's really it.

Some pieces are not recolors in this game. The real difference is in the Deco slots and/or skill.

Can you name which pieces then? Because appearance wise, all that I see is just the same as alpha but with a different paint job so far. Skills and deco slots are obviously different, but I ain't talking about that.

Some of them are different colors, it would be nice to just select the preset colors and not manually change it to the beta colors.

Prove that it's false. Otherwise get a grip and know what you are talking about before making accusations.
